Ancelotti to meet ADL, Everton await

Carlo Ancelotti has landed in Italy to meet Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis and iron out his contract release ahead of taking the Everton job.

The former Juventus and Real Madrid coach was sacked by De Laurentiis following a 4-0 win over Racing Genk in the Champions League last week.

'Ronaldo could end career at Juve'

Jorge Mendes has confessed that Cristiano Ronaldo could end his career at Juventus and said he “would’ve won the Ballon d’Or if still at Real Madrid.”

There appeared to be unrest between Ronaldo and Maurizio Sarri earlier in the season as the No 7 rejected claims made by his coach of a knee injury.

That escalated when the No 7 reacted angrily to being substituted against Milan in November, but Mendes maintains Sarri is “a great coach” and that his prized client could retire in Turin.

Mendes: 'Messi Ballon d'Or unjust'

Agent Jorge Mendes claims Lionel Messi shouldn’t have won the Ballon d’Or this year. “It was an injustice. Cristiano Ronaldo would've won if he was at Real Madrid.”

The Argentine superstar collected his sixth gong earlier this month, going one ahead of the Portuguese striker in the career Ballon d’Or race, with Ronaldo finishing third on the podium.

Mendes, speaking at the Golden Boy awards in Turin, says it wasn’t the correct decision to award the prize to Messi.

Claudio Ranieri: Derby master

With Sampdoria’s last-gasp victory in the Derby della Lanterna yesterday, Claudio Ranieri has made Serie A history by becoming the first coach to win all four of Italy’s biggest derbies.

Ranieri added a victory in the Genoese clash to go alongside scalps in the Milan, Rome and Turin derbies.

Not only has the 68-year-old won in each of the four derbies, but he’s remarkably also remained unbeaten.

Ranieri’s first experience of the four major derbies in the peninsula was the Derby della Mole between Juventus and Torino.

Buffon: 'Madrid a Real pleasure'

Gianluigi Buffon says “it’s always a pleasure” to face Real Madrid, as Juventus could draw the Spanish giants in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Buffon’s last appearance against Madrid saw him shown an injury-time red card during the second leg of Juve’s quarter-final tie in the tournament two seasons ago.

The Bianconeri ended up crashing out 7-6 on aggregate to a last-gasp Cristiano Ronaldo penalty, and they can inflict their revenge on Los Blancos in the Round of 16 this term.
