UEFA investigate Mou cards scandal

Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid are under investigation for allegedly ordering their players to get sent off against Ajax, confirmed UEFA.

The Coach caused controversy during the 4-0 victory in Amsterdam when he appeared to tell players Xabi Alonso, Sergio Ramos, Iker Casillas and Jerzy Dudek to pick up cards.

The Spaniards are already qualified for the next round and sure of first place in the group ahead of Milan.

Getting these players suspended for the final group game would therefore free up their disciplinary records for the knockout phase.

Juve zero in on Benzema

Juventus sent scouts to view Karim Benzema at Wembley and are focusing on him as the replacement for injured Amauri.

The Real Madrid benchwarmer scored in France's 2-1 international friendly victory against England on Wednesday night.

There were reportedly Bianconeri scouts in the stands in London to report on Benzema's progress.

Juve need a new striker after Amauri was ruled out for six weeks by a knee injury.

While other options include Diego Forlan and Maxi Lopez, it is widely believed Benzema is the prime target.

Thiago's wife rejects Madrid move

Milan centre-back Thiago Silva has revealed how his wife talked him out of joining Real Madrid last summer.

The 26-year-old was strongly linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, particularly because Jose Mourinho rates him highly.

Interviewed in Il Corriere dello Sport, Silva said: "It's true, I know. But my wife Isabel has always answered for me. She was the one to first say 'no' to Real. She definitely prefers Milan to Madrid."

Robinho reminded of Capello's Madrid

Robinho claims this current Milan side reminds him of Fabio Capello's Real Madrid in the 2006-07 season.

The Brazil international played his part in that title win, making 32 appearances. He also scored six goals.

"This Milan reminds me of Capello's Real Madrid," Robinho said. "Capello's Real Madrid had many champions in its ranks.

"The Italian tactician managed to find the right balance between desire, actually the necessity, to propose spectacular football and the solidity that we needed to win La Liga.

Sneijder will never play for Real again

Inter playmaker Wesley Sneijder has told L'Equipe that he never intends to play for Real Madrid again despite his admiration for Jose Mourinho.

The Holland international, who is a favourite for the Ballon d'Or, left Real Madrid a year ago and set about winning the treble at Inter.

"Of course [Mourinho has tried to make me leave for Real]. We have stayed in touch. But it's impossible.

"I don't want to go back to a club who treated me in this way. I can't act as if nothing happened.

Zidane denies peace with Materazzi

Zinedine Zidane has reportedly denied making peace with Marco Materazzi before Real Madrid's match against Milan on Wednesday night.

Marca claimed the two met at the Hotel Melia on via Masaccio and had a polite chat before embracing in a gesture of reconciliation.

It was the first time Zidane and Materazzi had shown any signs of putting the events of the 2006 World Cup Final behind them.

Zidane was sent off after he head-butted Materazzi following a verbal exchange that is still the subject of great speculation.

'Kaka ready to leave Real Madrid'

Reports in Spain appear to indicate that Ricky Kaka will leave Real Madrid in January, sparking a bidding war among Europe's biggest clubs.

The 28-year-old Brazilian has been repeatedly linked with a move back to Italy in recent months, although never once did the likes of Marca and AS take it seriously.

However, it now seems as though they agree with their Italian counterparts that Real Madrid are open to selling Kaka who left Milan last year in a €68.5m transfer.

Mourinho admires Milan character

Jose Mourinho hailed Milan's character, but felt “there was no way Real Madrid could leave this stadium with a defeat.”

The 2-2 draw was snatched at the 93rd minute with Pedro Leon after Pippo Inzaghi had come off the bench for a brace.

“The first Milan goal came from Pepe slipping over. The second was obviously offside and beyond doubt. But I don't want to talk about the referee,” Mou told Sky Sport Italia.

Inzaghi: 'I proved critics wrong'

Pippo Inzaghi answered his critics with tonight's brace against Real Madrid, but also complained at his lack of playing time.

The goals took his European tally to 70, but he celebrated with the number 69 jersey after the first.

“The number 69 shirt had been ready for a while. I am particularly proud to be here at my age, hearing certain things said about me and proving my quality on the pitch,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Some commentators forget about me occasionally and I expect they'll climb on the bandwagon now.
