Favre has Balotelli hope

Nice Coach Lucien Favre wants Mario Balotelli to replicate Sunday night’s debut performance against Marseille.

The Italy international scored two goals in a 3-2 win for his new side, having moved to the south of France after a difficult two years at Liverpool.

“Balotelli now has a new job!” Favre told reporters after the match at Allianz Riviera.

“Tonight was hard for the Coaches. At a certain stage we allowed Marseille to create too many chances, but by the end it was us who were doing more.

‘Balotelli wouldn’t have been called’

Italy CT Antonio Conte reveals Mario Balotelli wouldn’t have been called-up, even without his injury.

“There’s still a path to follow to get to the national team,” Conte explained in a Press conference at Coverciano.

“Two games are not enough to re-open the doors. I need certainty, and that goes for him and everyone else.

It appears that the two players could return in the same game. Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Balotelli should be a starter in the game against Torino after the international break.
