‘Balotelli showed maturity’

Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo praises Mario Balotelli’s “maturity” but “we’ll see if he’s changed or not”.

The striker scored the first goal of his second spell with the Rossoneri in Tuesday’s win over Udinese, winning praise for keeping a cool head after rough treatment from Zebrette defenders.

“I told him to prove that he’s changed, not with talk,” Montolivo told Premium Sport.

Milan survive split personality

The win over Udinese showed both the best and the worst of the Rossoneri, explains Sam Lewis.

After 45 minutes, Milan were sitting pretty. Prettier than they’ve sat for some time. Several seasons, in fact. Winning 3-0 away from home against Udinese, a side that had troubled them in previous seasons, Milan were riding high thanks to goals from Mario Balotelli, Giacomo Bonaventura and Cristian Zapata. Praise was given to coach Sinisia Mihajlovic over social media at the break, who appeared to finally have figured out how to collate his talent into a winning formula.

Mihajlovic: 'Perfect Balotelli'

Sinisa Mihajlovic reveals he warned Milan of an Udinese comeback at half-time and hailed “perfect” Mario Balotelli.

The Rossoneri were 3-0 up at the break, yet eventually scraped a 3-2 result at the Stadio Friuli.

“The first half was good, it was one-way traffic and we were 3-0 up. As I told the lads at half-time, unfortunately teams last 90 minutes and not 45, so we have to continue with the same spirit,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset Premium.

Balotelli: 'Defenders provoke me'

Mario Balotelli said Milan are “a group of fighters” and mocked Udinese defenders who “tried to provoke me.”

The striker curled in a splendid free kick during their 3-2 victory at the Stadio Friuli, his first start since moving on loan from Liverpool.

“We were winning 3-0 and got distracted, so we really can’t end up 3-2 in that situation,” SuperMario told Mediaset Premium.
