Milenkovic: 'Fiorentina ideal club'

Defender Nikola Milenkovic shrugged off interest from some of Europe’s biggest teams. “Fiorentina are the ideal club.”

The Serbia international impressed in Serie A and for his country at the 2018 World Cup, earning interest from top clubs including Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, Inter, Juventus and Manchester City.

“It’s pleasing, but I am not thinking about it,” assured the man who turns 21 next month to Tuttosport.

Jorginho: Sarri convinced me

Former Napoli midfielder Jorginho has confessed that Maurizio Sarri convinced him to reject Manchester City and similarly join Chelsea.

Jorginho appeared to be all set for City until he opted to follow Sarri to Chelsea, and the Italy international admits the 58-year-old played a ‘big’ part in his decision.

“There are a lot of things behind a negotiation process,” he told ESPN.

Skriniar closer to Inter renewal

Milan Skriniar is reportedly moving closer to an Inter renewal, not least due to Jose Mourinho’s struggles at Manchester United.

The Slovakian defender has been in contact talks for some time, but the initial offer was rejected.

Skriniar’s agents are looking to boost his salary to around €3m per season, while the offer on the table is slightly below that.

According to calciomercato.com though a renewal is looking more and more likely, because interest from other big clubs has cooled.

Rabiot leans towards City

Manchester City are reportedly the favourites to sign Adrien Rabiot from Paris Saint-Germain, beating Milan, Juventus and Barcelona.

The 23-year-old midfielder will be a free agent when his contract expires in June 2019 and does not seem intent on signing a new deal in Paris.

According to Metro newspaper in England, Rabiot has given the all-clear for Manchester City and could even pen a pre-contract agreement in January.

He had already spent a year at Manchester City’s youth academy at the age of 14, but felt too homesick.

Marotta up for award

Juventus chief Beppe Marotta is battling his Real Madrid and Manchester City counterparts in the World Football Summit Industry Awards.

The trophy for Best Executive will be handed out in a ceremony in Madrid on Monday.

It goes to “the executive who has made a change for the benefit of the institution, has made the most efficient use of its resources and has achieved greater impact according to their capabilities.”

The candidates have been whittled down to just three and one of them is Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta.

Zielinski clause at €120m

Napoli are set to lock Premier League target Piotr Zielinski down to a new contract with €120m release clause.

The Poland international midfielder was signed from Udinese for €14m plus bonuses in 2016, but his value has since sky-rocketed.

His current contract runs to June 2021, but a new deal is expected to be ratified in October.

According to Il Mattino newspaper, it’ll include a release clause worth somewhere between €100m and €120m.

Jorginho agent: ‘All done with City but…’

The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho confirms “it was all done” with Manchester City, but they couldn’t agree with Napoli.
