Tomiyasu: 'I can be Bologna leader'

Takehiro Tomiyasu assures the pressure of Serie A football and Bologna “excites me” and he wants to “become a leader.”

The Japan international completed his transfer from Belgian club Sint-Truiden and pledged to learn Italian quickly, so he can communicate with his new teammates.

“Yuto Nagatomo told me that there’s a lot of pressure playing in Italy, but that excites me, as it means the fans are passionate,” said the centre-back in his Press conference.

Mihajlovic completes first chemo cycle

Sinisa Mihajlovic has completed the first cycle of chemotherapy and will remain in hospital for at least three weeks, confirmed Bologna.

The Coach was diagnosed with acute leukaemia earlier this month and began an aggressive course of treatment.

A statement released this afternoon confirmed Mihajlovic has completed the first cycle of chemotherapy, which began on Thursday July 18, without complications.

The response was as expected from medics at the Istituto Seragnoli in the Sant’Orsola hospital in Bologna.

Skov Olsen all set for Bologna

Nordsjaelland winger Andreas Skov Olsen is set to complete a reported €5m transfer to Bologna.

The move has been in the offing for some time but is only going through now.

Sportitalia writes Skov Olsen arrived in Bologna earlier today to undergo a medical, before signing his contract.

The 19-year-old caught the eye for Denmark at the European Under-21 Championship, posting a goal and assist.

Obiang all set for Sassuolo

West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang will fly in for a Sassuolo medical this weekend after agreeing a transfer for €8m plus bonuses.

Sky Sport Italia transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio claims the deal is done and final details were sorted out this evening.

Obiang is currently in China, where West Ham are on a pre-season tour, but will fly to Italy on Sunday and undergo a medical next week.

It is a return to Serie A for the 27-year-old Guinea international, as he spent most of his career at Sampdoria from 2008 to 2015.

Mihajlovic begins chemotherapy

Bologna Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has begun chemotherapy after his diagnosis of acute prevalently myeloid leukaemia.

The 50-year-old tactician has been in the Sant’Orsola Hospital’s Istituto Seragnoli since Monday, where he underwent further tests to identify the specific type of illness.

A statement from Bologna confirmed it is an acute prevalently myeloid leukaemia.

This means the leukaemia begins in the myeloid cells rather than lymphocytic leukaemia.

Mihajlovic has begun chemotherapy treatment today.

'I'd find Wanda a new man'

Former Inter director Walter Sabatini claims ‘I’d find a new boyfriend for Wanda Nara’ if Mauro Icardi was still his player.

Sabatini was Inter’s technical co-ordinator between 2017 and 2018, while Nerazzurri fans have blamed Wanda for Icardi’s troubles, which have seen him go from being their captain to not even part of their first team.

Samp fight Torino for Verdi

Torino have competition from Sampdoria in the race for Napoli forward Simone Verdi, but they must pay €25m.

The 27-year-old is not in Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s plans, although the Partenopei don’t want to make a loss on his transfer.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Torino had a €21m proposal rejected.

Now Sport Mediaset note that Sampdoria are also preparing a bid for free kick specialist Verdi at much the same level.

Tomiyasu: 'I want to prove myself'

Japan international defender Takehiro Tomiyasu insists he wants to “prove I belong in the starting XI” on the first day of Bologna’s season.

He made the transfer from Belgian club Sint-Truiden for €7m earlier this month and arrived today to meet his new teammates.

“I want to prove I belong in the starting XI on opening day,” Tomiyasu told Japan Times.

Mihajlovic enters hospital early

Bologna Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has anticipated the start of treatment against leukaemia to today. “On the attack from the first moment.”

The tactician only announced on Saturday that he had been diagnosed with the condition and was set to enter the Sant’Orsola Hospital on Tuesday.

However, a statement from Bologna this evening confirmed he is already settling in to the clinic.

Denswil: 'Serie A test for defenders'

Stefano Denswil admits having Mitchell Dijks at Bologna helped sway him and “Serie A is an important litmus test for us defenders.”

The 26-year-old Dutch centre-back completed his €6m transfer from Club Brugge last week and held a presentation Press conference today.

“I was at the stadium for the final game of the season against Napoli, my friend Dijks invited me. Bologna and I made contact about a month ago, the Club really wanted to sign me,” said Denswil.
