Report: Colantuono for Udinese

Multiple sources claim Udinese will remove Andrea Stramaccioni to hire ex-Atalanta boss Stefano Colantuono.

The reports are backed by Sky Sport Italia and SportItalia, who are adamant it’s a done deal.

This week Udinese director Cristian Giaretta declared reports of a split with Stramaccioni were “entirely unfounded.”

However, the media in Italy continue to state he will leave the Stadio Friuli club, possibly a termination of the contract by mutual consent.

Udinese deny Strama sacking

Udinese director of sport Cristiano Giaretta slammed “unfounded claims” they will sack Coach Andrea Stramaccioni.

The rumours emerged after a 1-0 home defeat to Sassuolo left them fifth from bottom.

“There was no meeting with Stramaccioni and no divergence of opinions on transfer strategy,” assured Giaretta.

“We will speak at the end of the season and right now have another game to think about. We only discuss these matters around renewals and other issues when the campaign has been completed.

'Di Natale future down to him'

Coach Andrea Stramaccioni won't field Antonio Di Natale from the start, but hopes he'll stay with Udinese.

“We're coming from a positive game, one that represented a good comeback after the worrying decline we showed against Sampdoria,” he said, in reference to the good play shown by his team in their 2-1 loss to Roma.
