Strama: 'Udinese's best performance'

Andrea Stramaccioni saw “one of Udinese’s best performances” in their heart-breaking Coppa Italia exit to Napoli on penalties.

The Friulani went down to 10 men after 68 minutes, but still forced extra time and even a shoot-out when drawing 2-2 at the San Paolo.

“We are disappointed at the elimination, but I could not have asked my lads for more. I think it was one of Udinese’s best performances of the season,” Strama told Rai Sport.

‘Happy with my Udinese players’

Stramaccioni: ‘We must start over’

Udinese Coach Andrea Stramaccioni says that the Coppa Italia is a real priority for them, as he reflects on disappointing League form.

The Zebrette will be facing Napoli tomorrow evening to determine who will qualify for the Coppa quarter-finals.

However, the Coach is a little irritated by the fact that their next Serie A rivals, Empoli, played their own Coppa Italia match two days before them.

Stramaccioni: 'Udinese deserved win'

Andrea Stramaccioni feels Udinese “deserved victory” and were “unlucky” with the contentious last-gasp Cagliari penalty.

The 2-2 draw was decided by a Danilo Avelar spot-kick awarded in stoppages.

“I thought the penalty was an unintentional handball. We are unlucky with referees at the moment, as today Udinese deserved victory,” Strama told Rai Sport.

Strama rues Udinese injury crisis

Andrea Stramaccioni feels Udinese did very well to earn a point at Sassuolo despite numerous injury problems.

Antonio Di Natale pulled out with flu symptoms before kick-off and during the first half Alexander Geijo went off with a suspected hamstring strain.

“I think with all honesty that a draw reflects the course of the game, which was played with an open approach from both sides,” Strama told Sky Sport Italia.

Strama praises Sassuolo

Udinese Coach Andrea Stramaccioni believes Sassuolo are the revelation of the season as he prepares to face them tomorrow evening.

The Neroverdi defeated Milan at San Siro on Tuesday, and currently sit a point above the Zebrette in 10th.
