Aquilani: 'My future in the balance'

Alberto Aquilani concedes his future at Juventus is far from secure. “Liverpool set a high buy-out clause on my loan.”

The former Roma midfielder arrived in the summer on a one-season loan deal with an option to buy outright, but there are no guarantees it will be taken up.

“I came here running quite a big risk, as I came on a simple loan deal,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“That's unlike many of my teammates, who have some kind of reassurance or even obligation for a permanent move.

Aquilani or Pirlo? Juve decides

Juventus are wondering whether it would be better to sign Andrea Pirlo from Milan than make Alberto Aquilani's move from Liverpool permanent.

Aquilani has impressed during his loan spell, but Juventus are seriously beginning to have qualms about paying the €16.5m option included in the deal.

The 26-year-old's wage demands, said to be €3.5m a season, have also given Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta plenty to think about from now until the end of the campaign.

Juventus look for Aquilani discount

Juventus will seek to get a discount on the signing of Alberto Aquilani from Liverpool, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 26-year-old Italy international is on loan in Turin until the end of the season when Juventus have an option to buy him on a permanent basis.

La Gazzetta understands that Juventus don't want to spend any more money than €12m for Aquilani so they can absorb his wages, which are said to be worth €3m a season.

Agger 'considering Fiorentina offer'

Fiorentina have made an offer for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger, according to a FIFA agent, but he is haggling over wages.

“The Viola have put forward a contract proposal to Agger, offering him €1.5m, but he wants €2m per season,” FIFA agent Bernardo Brovarone told Lady Radio in Florence.

“Now we have to wait and see what Liverpool say about it.”

It is not the first time that Agger has been linked with a move this season.

Hodgson 'surprised' at Rafa rumours

Roy Hodgson says it would be “surprising” if Inter boss Rafa Benitez were to make a comeback to Liverpool.

There are numerous rumours around the fate of the Nerazzurri Coach, who looks set to be axed after his ‘back me or sack me' demands.

Some British sources suggest Rafa could even return to Anfield Road, the club he left in the summer.

“It would be surprising. If he were the right man for the job then it would have been wiser not to let him go for six months and then have to bring him back,” said Hodgson.

Aquilani wanted Juve at all costs

Alberto Aquilani has revealed how he wanted to join Juventus at all costs rather than starting again at a smaller club.

The 26-year-old midfielder moved to Turin on loan from Liverpool in the summer and has rebuilt his career after an injury-plagued season on Merseyside.

Speaking to the club's official TV channel, Aquilani said: "I only wanted Juventus. The Bianconeri quickly presented themselves once I made my desire to return to Italy known, getting in touch with Liverpool and Roy Hodgson with the idea of a loan.
