Lazio face Lovren competition

Lazio face competition from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur when it comes to Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren.

The Aquile had already approached him during the January transfer window, but were not prepared to pay the €20m asking price.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, that has now dropped significantly, because his contract expires in June 2021 and he has no intention of extending.

Lovren turns 31 in July and has been with the Reds since the summer of 2014, so is eager for a new experience.

Football Italia Chief Correspondent Richard Hall looks back over the career of Joaquin Peiró, telling the story of his time in Italy and a mythical spell with the ‘Grande Inter’.

Yesterday, Internazionale released a statement saying that they were deeply saddened by the passing of one of Helenio Herrera’s Grande Inter players. Joaquin Peiró is a name that will live forever in the hearts of the Inter faithful despite his time there only lasting two seasons. The last Serie A match that was carried out before the forced break was a game between Juventus and Inter in an empty Allianz Stadium.

The Bianconeri won the game 2-0 and are back on top of the standings in Italy, something Mihajlovic feels represents the gap of quality between the Old Lady and the rest.
