Parma swoop for Napoli pair?

Parma are closing in on a double swoop for Napoli pair Roberto Inglese and Alberto Grassi, according to Sky Sport italia.

The duo played key roles in last season’s Serie A relegation battle, with Inglese firing 13 goals to keep Chievo up and Grassi playing 28 times in SPAL’s midfield.

The broadcaster adds Parma have also checked in on Genoa hitman Gianluca Lapadula and Lazio’s Davide Di Gennaro if a deal for either Napoli player falls through.

Bertolacci in Genoa return?

Genoa will reportedly make a late move for Milan midfielder Andrea Bertolacci.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com, Genoa have not lost hope of bringing back Bertolacci before Friday’s deadline.

Grifone boss Davide Ballardini also claimed last week that he would not be able to rely on Brazilian new boy Sandro in midfield due to his history of injuries.

The former Roma youth product is surplus to requirements at Milan, having been left out of their 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid over the weekend.

Saponara set for Viola exit

Riccardo Saponara is expected to leave Fiorentina, with Genoa, Sampdoria, Bologna and Parma showing interest.

The 26-year-old trequartista joined the club from Empoli in January 2017 in a deal worth €10.5m.

The former Empoli and Milan talent managed 31 competitive appearances for the Viola, scoring two goals with six assists.

Saponara does not seem to be part of Coach Stefano Pioli’s plans for this season.

According to Tuttosport, Genoa are the favourites to secure his signature in the final week of the transfer window.

Coppa: Piatek poker for Genoa

A star is born, as Krzysztof Piatek scored four goals when Genoa demolished Lecce in the Coppa Italia Third Round tie.

The 23-year-old Polish talent arrived from Cracovia Krakow at a cost of €4m this summer and already looks like a huge bargain.

He single-handedly set up their next Coppa clash with either Virtus Entella or Salernitana in December.

It took all of 70 seconds for Piatek to open his account with a header, then he dribbled round the goalkeeper to finish with his right foot.
