Semplici: 'SPAL dropped points'

Leonardo Semplici feels SPAL “dropped two points” at Marassi today by failing to beat a Genoa side down to 10 men for 80 minutes.

Domenico Criscito was shown a straight red card for his dangerous tackle on Pasquale Schiattarella after 11 minutes, but despite Andrea Petagna opening the scoring, Krzysztof Piatek converted a penalty to equalise.

“We dropped two points today and it’s really disappointing,” the SPAL Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

Full set of Italian Serie A Coaches

For the first time since 2006-07, all 20 Serie A Coaches are Italian, as Cesare Prandelli replaced Ivan Juric at Genoa to complete the set.

The former Italy and Fiorentina boss was appointed this week as Genoa’s third Coach of the campaign, as Juric had come in for Davide Ballardini.

Considering Julio Velazquez of Udinese was fired to make way for Davide Nicola, there are now no foreign tacticians left in the top flight.

Preziosi: ‘Shouldn’t have recalled Juric’

Juric failed to win a single match though, and after the Coppa Italia loss to Virtus Entella he was replaced by Cesare Prandelli.

“I was wrong to recall Juric,” Preziosi admitted in an interview with Il Secolo XIX.
