Highlights: Genoa 2-0 SPAL

Genoa clambered back out of the relegation zone with their victory over rock bottom SPAL, as Goran Pandev and Lasse Schone showed they’ve still got it.

The two veterans found the net with a precise snooker shot and a trademark free kick respectively.

It could’ve been an even wider win than 2-0, but Karlo Letica saved the Iago Falque penalty.

Serie A Week 32 referees

The referees for Sunday’s Serie A fixtures have been confirmed, with Federico La Penna given Napoli-Milan.

La Penna has been one of the more card-happy referees this season, showing 82 yellows and five reds in his 16 games this season, while awarding 11 penalties.

Both sides have a mixed record with the Roman as Napoli have won just one of their three matches, conceding a spot-kick in the 4-2 defeat to Sampdoria.

As for Milan, he was the referee when they were thrashed 5-0 by Atalanta in January.

Experience isn't everything for Inter

Antonio Conte and Inter are so focused on experienced names, they risk losing sight of the youthful potential at their disposal, warns Richard Hall.

The message from Antonio Conte after dropping points against Bologna and Verona was always the same – Inter need more experienced players in their ranks. His obsession with bringing in ready-made champions means the Nerazzurri could once again waste the talent at their disposal and overlook youthful potential to chase after a veteran name.

Higuain to Fiorentina for Chiesa?

Fiorentina could ask for Gonzalo Higuain and Cristian Romero as part of the deal taking €70m-rated Federico Chiesa to Juventus, claim La Gazzetta dello Sport.

According to today’s newspaper, the negotiations are intensifying after Chiesa’s recent poor performances at the Stadio Franchi.

The attempt to keep him in Florence regardless of his wishes to leave appears to have backfired and now President Rocco Commisso is more open to a sale.

Juve remain the favourites, especially as they can offer several players as part of a package deal.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta are inspiring everyone in Europe, claims Verona coach Ivan Juric, and thinking of the Scudetto. ‘He’s only behind Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola.’

La Dea have leapfrogged Inter into third place, sitting only two points adrift of Lazio and are up against leaders Juventus this weekend.

“I think Gasperini is thinking about the Scudetto,” Juric told Sky Sport Italia.

Malago wants fans back 'as soon as possible'

CONI President Giovanni Malago claims the low TV ratings in Italy are due to the lack of people in the stands and hopes to see fans in the stadium before the season is over.

Serie A has been carried out behind closed doors since the resumption and Malago thinks it has affected the viewer numbers.

He spoke at the Educamp presentation and his words were picked up by TMW: “For months they have thought us to respect the indications of the Technical and Scientific Commission (CTS).
