Banti to referee Napoli-Inter

Genoa’s Cofie hospitalised

Genoa midfielder Isaac Cofie has been hospitalised for antibiotic treatment after contracting an infection.

The 26-year-old has made three Serie A appearances so far this season, but will be out of action for the trip to Milan at the weekend.

“Genoa Cricket and Football Club announces that midfielder Isaac Cofie has been hospitalised today at San Martino hospital, due to an infection requiring antibiotic treatment,” a statement on the Griffon’s website reads.

Centurion to re-join Boca?

Genoa winger Ricardo Centurion is being tipped by various reports to re-join Boca Juniors in January.

Calciomercato.com cites the South American Press In suggesting that Centurion “could return to Boca” after finding himself “on the margins of Genoa’s project.”

The 24-year-old only moved back to the Grifone two months ago from Boca, where he scored six goals in 18 appearances.

Cagliari Coach Massimo Rastelli admits his position is in doubt after the 3-2 home defeat to Genoa. “The club can make its decisions.”

The Sardinians continue to struggle and were fortunate not to lose by a bigger margin this afternoon.

“I have not spoken to anyone from the club,” Rastelli told Rai Sport.

“I have been here for two and a half years, I have a good rapport with everyone and the club can make its decisions. It has that right.

Genoa thriller in Sardinia

Genoa made the most of truly terrible defending to take all three points from Cagliari in this five-goal thriller.

The Grifone should arguably have had the game sealed up by half-time, because Andrej Galabinov and Adel Taarabt converted only some of the many chances created.

Leonardo Pavoletti scored his first goal in a Cagliari jersey, nodding in to get the hosts back in the game.

Luca Rigoni added to his assist with a towering header from a corner and the cushion was needed, as Joao Pedro converted a penalty for 3-2.

Mirabelli: 'Belotti at Milan one day'

Vincenzo Montella asked for Nikola Kalinic and Milan could make another bid for Torino hitman Andrea Belotti, said Massimiliano Mirabelli.

Pellegri 'a young Ibrahimovic'

Genoa’s 16-year-old sensation Pietro Pellegri is “a young Zlatan Ibrahimovic,” said his agent, and “it’s not surprising he has been linked with PSG.”

The teenager scored a remarkable three Serie A goals in his first two appearances, which were against Roma and Lazio.

“I am not in contact with anyone at the moment,” agent Giuseppe Riso told Foot Mercato.
