According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Daniele De Rossi has been offered the Fiorentina job if Vincenzo Italiano leaves, but the Roma coach will ‘surely’ take charge of Boca Juniors one day.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports De Rossi is Fiorentina’s primary target if Italiano leaves the Stadio Franchi at the end of the season.

According to the report, the Giallorossi boss has already been informed about the Tuscans’ plan, but DDR has reiterated that his priority is to remain at Roma beyond the summer.

De Rossi replaced José Mourinho in January 2024, signing a contract until the end of the season. The Giallorossi are very happy with him, so Fiorentina’s ambitious plan will be scrapped if Roma offer DDR a new contract.

De Rossi is on good terms with Fiorentina directors Daniele Pradé and Nicolas Burdisso, who are in charge of La Viola’s transfers following Joe Barone’s tragic death. Pradé was one of Roma’s directors during DDR’s time at the club as a footballer, while Burdisso played at the Stadio Olimpico from 2009 until 2014. De Rossi was at Viola Park last week to pay respects to Barone.

According to the same report, there is a club De Rossi wants to coach one day and it’s Boca Juniors. “It will surely happen,” wrote journalist Jacopo Aliprandi, but before returning to Argentina, De Rossi wants to continue his career in Serie A, possibly at the Stadio Olimpico.

Another report from Gazzetta on Thursday claims Alberto Aquilani and Alberto Gilardino, two ex-Fiorentina players, are among the candidates to replace Italiano at the Stadio Franchi in 2024-25.
