Genoa to bid for Viviano

Genoa will inquire about signing Bologna goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano as part of their efforts to appoint Alberto Malesani

President Enrico Preziosi has reportedly sounded out Malesani about taking charge of the club next season.

Il Corriere dello Sport understands Preziosi has offered the tactician a two-year contract worth €750,000 a season, prompting Malesani to consider his future at the Renato Dall'Ara.

Genoa are keen to raid Bologna at the end of the season and have already been linked with midfielder Gabi Mudingayi.

'Milan want to keep Boateng'

“Milan want to keep hold of Kevin-Prince Boateng and he certainly won't return to Genoa,” said President Enrico Preziosi.

The Ghana international was signed by Genoa in an odd transfer deal during the summer, as he was turned over immediately to the Rossoneri on loan.

“Boateng had a great season and Milan want to keep hold of him, based on the agreement we had previously set out,” revealed Genoa patron Preziosi on Radio Kiss Kiss.

The Disappointed

Giancarlo Rinaldi on three teams who have under-performed this season – Genoa, Palermo and Fiorentina

Red and purple and pink and blue. It might sound like that terrible song about singing a rainbow, but this season in Serie A they have been the colours of disappointment. Who among Fiorentina, Genoa and Palermo fans can claim to have had the campaign which least lived up to their expectations?

Parolo 'has Palermo and Genoa offers'

Cesena have officially put Marco Parolo on the market after he earned his first Italy cap. “Palermo and Genoa have made offers.”

The winger has emerged as a home-grown talent in Serie A this season and made his Azzurri debut in the 2-0 friendly win in Ukraine.

“The player has a great future ahead of him and it'll be very difficult for us to keep hold of him,” said technical director Lorenzo Minotti.

“Already in January we turned down an offer from Palermo, because we needed him to fight for safety.

Line-ups: Juve stick with trident

Juventus stick with the 4-3-3 system that conquered Roma as they welcome Genoa in the lunch-time game.

The 11.30 UK time kick-off sees the Bianconeri attempt to break back into the race for the Champions League spots.

It would be a third consecutive victory – something Gigi Del Neri's side have not achieved all season.

Gigi Buffon has still not recovered from the flu, so is replaced by Marco Storari between the posts.

Ballardini: 'Genoa equal to Juve'

Genoa visit Turin in the lunch-time kick-off and Davide Ballardini has no fear. “We are on a par with Juventus.”

The Grifone have nothing left to play for this season, having achieved mid-table safety, and so can play without pressure. At the same time, they fell 1-0 to Cagliari last week in perhaps their worst performance of the campaign.

“This is a squad of talented, professional and responsible people. Players are not looking for excuses, nor do they pull out when faced with a physical problem,” assured the Coach.

Report: Ranieri in Genoa talks

Claudio Ranieri is reportedly in negotiations to take over at Genoa in the summer, replacing Davide Ballardini.

The Coach resigned from his position at Roma earlier this term to make way for Vincenzo Montella.

It has been rumoured for some time now that Genoa were interested in the former Parma, Juventus and Chelsea manager.

According to Telenord, Ranieri met with President Enrico Preziosi today at the headquarters of his toy empire.

The report suggested Ranieri has taken some time to think over the proposal before giving a response.

'How Genoa beat Chelsea to Kranjc'

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi explains how he beat Chelsea to the signature of Slovenian sensation Luka Kranjc.

This week the club agreed a deal for the 16-year-old Maribor defender, who had also been in negotiations with the Stamford Bridge side.

“Kranjc will be here on Friday for his medical. The agreement has already been reached, the player and clubs signed,” Preziosi told Telenord.

Preziosi blasts ugly Genoa

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi has criticised the team for their 1-0 loss to Cagliari. "It was the worst Genoa that I have ever seen."

Boss Davide Ballardini described the side's Marassi display as "terrible" yesterday, but Preziosi has been scathing in his analysis of the game.

"It was the worst Genoa I have ever seen, at home or away," stated the toy tycoon. "I honestly can't explain that performance. I'm very disappointed."

Genoa snap up Chelsea target Kranjc

Genoa are reportedly going to sign Slovenian teenage talent Luka Kranjc on Monday, beating competition from Chelsea.

The 16-year-old centre-back is captain of the Under-17 international squad and part of the Maribor stable that already brought Josip Ilicic and Armin Bacinovic to Palermo.

He had a trial with Chelsea in December and the move hit problems, so Genoa stepped in to take advantage.

It's reported Kranjc will be in the stands of the Stadio Ferraris for tomorrow's Serie A game with Cagliari.
