Boateng '90 per cent' staying at Milan

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi is “90 per cent” sure Kevin-Prince Boateng will stay at Milan and admits Diego Milito won't be returning either.

The Grifone signed Boateng from Portsmouth in the summer to then immediately loan him to the Rossoneri, but details of a permanent transfer are still up in the air.

“We'll meet with Adriano Galliani on Tuesday. If we don't resolve it then, it means we have serious problems,” explained Preziosi.

Malesani heading to Genoa

Bologna boss Alberto Malesani will move to Genoa over the summer, reports in Italy are suggesting.

President Enrico Preziosi will show Davide Ballardini the door at the end of the season and Malesani will be his successor.

Malesani has refuelled his reputation after keeping crisis-hit Bologna in the top flight this term despite their financial troubles.

It's understood that Malesani has been preferred to Varese boss Giuseppe Sannino and Gianluca Atzori of Reggina.

Milan will dance for Boateng

Milan are confident that they will reach an agreement with Genoa for Kevin Prince Boateng – even if the port club have jokingly increased his price tag following his dancing exploits.

The attacking midfielder is currently co-owned by both clubs, but the Rossoneri want to buy him outright this summer.

"We'll find an agreement," Milan chief Adriano Galliani said on Monday. "Boateng will be our first choice attacking midfielder next season.

Ballardini won't be easy on Lazio

Genoa boss Davide Ballardini takes on his former club, but has no intention of giving Lazio an easy ride towards Champions League football.

The Grifone could be forgiven for relaxing after securing safety and beating arch rivals Sampdoria at the 96th minute last week.

“All Coaches and all teams want to do well. We will do our duty,” assured Ballardini ahead of today's 17.00 UK time kick-off.

“Nothing is ever easy, as we work all week to achieve the peace of mind needed to step on to the field.

Genoa confirm Ribas deal

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi confirmed he has a deal in place for Uruguayan hitman Sebastian Ribas.

“We are buying Ribas,” the patron told Radio Incontro this evening. “He is a 23-year-old Uruguayan striker with an Italian passport and you can say we're sealing the deal.”

Ribas is out of contract with Ligue 2 side Dijon, where he has scored 20 goals this season.

He has a past in Italian football with both Inter and Serie C outfit Spezia.

Atzori waiting for offers

Gianluca Atzori, boss of Serie B side Reggina, says he knows nothing about the links with Genoa and Palermo.

The tactician has been associated with a move to both Serie A clubs recently given that they are likely to make coaching changes over the summer.

"I want to be a Coach when I grow up," Atzori joked with TMW. "However, for the time being, there is nothing concrete.

"I have just been reading about the interest in me via the newspapers."

Genoa won't reveal next boss

President Enrico Preziosi is refusing to reveal who will be the Genoa boss for the 2011-12 campaign.

"I've obviously already decided on who will be the Coach for next season, the problem is I can't tell you who it is," he stated to Sky Italia.

"When the right time arrives then I will make it public. His initials? I won't say, but perhaps you'll be surprised…"

The Rossblu are currently bossed by Davide Ballardini, but he is expected to be shown the door at the end of the campaign.

De Canio: 'Forza Genoa!'

Lecce have climbed out of the relegation zone, but it all depends on the derby tonight. “I'm cheering on Genoa,” said Gigi De Canio.

The last-gasp 2-1 win over Napoli allowed the Salentini to leapfrog Sampdoria, who are in action at 19.45 UK time.

“I will watch tonight's game and I'm cheering on Genoa,” smiled the Coach.

“Our safety has to be linked in with Samp's results. If by the end of this weekend we are still on top of Sampdoria, then our fate is in our hands.

Line-ups: Derby della Lanterna

Sampdoria need a victory to escape the relegation zone, but local rivals Genoa have no intention of making it easy for them.

The Blucerchiati slipped into the bottom three after this afternoon's results and must pick up points in the 19.45 UK time kick-off.

Fans aren't too hopeful, as many of the Samp tickets have not been sold for the Derby della Madonnina.

Gianluca Curci is not 100 per cent fit, so Junior Da Costa starts between the posts, while Jonathan Biabiany and Nicola Pozzi are the strikers.
