'Milan insist for Criscito'

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi claims Milan are determined to sign Domenico Criscito before the end of the January transfer window.

It's no secret that Milan would like to bring in a new full-back for the second half of the season.

Earlier this week, Adriano Galliani told reporters that he would try to buy one at the request of Max Allegri.

Criscito has long been Milan's No 1 choice for the position although Genoa aren't prepared to sell until the end of the season.

Galliani rubbishes Criscito talk

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has rubbished talk of the club signing Genoa full-back Domenico Criscito, slighting the player in the process.

Earlier today, Genoa owner Enrico Preziosi told reporters that Galliani has been calling him each and every day to ask about the Italy international.

Speaking at the official unveiling of Urby Emanuelson and Mark Van Bommel, Galliani said: "We are looking for a left-back.

"I rule out that it's Criscito. The full-back we have chosen plays abroad and can participate in the Champions League.

No Genoa for Marchetti

Genoa have pulled out of their attempt to sign Federico Marchetti from Cagliari, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Genoa had agreed to pay €5m for the 27-year-old Italy international who stood in for Gigi Buffon at the World Cup.

Marchetti's nightmare at Cagliari finally looked to be over. He hasn't played at all this season after Massimo Cellino took issue with comments he made in an interview with La Gazzetta during the summer.

Official: Milan's Paloschi to Genoa

Milan have bought Parma out for Alberto Paloschi, sending him to Genoa in a co-ownership deal, and loaned Bruno Montelongo to Bologna.

Rossoneri youth academy product Paloschi has been playing for Parma since the summer of 2008, as the two clubs shared his contract 50-50.

The young striker postpones his return to San Siro again, as Milan have bought out Parma's half of the player and sold it back to Genoa.

Paloschi will play for the Rossoblu for the rest of the current season.

Genoa consider Sorrentino bid

Genoa's search for a goalkeeper could end with a bid for Chievo's Stefano Sorrentino.

The club has lost faith in summer signing Eduardo after his latest howler against Udinese.

Genoa have been strongly linked with Federico Marchetti, but a deal has yet to materialise.

The Grifone had been close to bringing in Sorrentino in the summer only to be wowed by Eduardo's performances for Portugal at the World Cup.

Reports in Italy suggest Genoa have inquired about Sorrentino's availability.
