Floro Flores: 'Why I chose Genoa'

Antonio Floro Flores reveals why he turned down Juventus to join Genoa. “I hope to follow in the footsteps of Diego Milito and Marco Borriello.”

The Rossoblu have a history of giving strikers a huge career boost with Capocannoniere challengers who then move on to bigger clubs.

“I am finally joining Genoa after years of courting from President Enrico Preziosi,” said the former Udinese striker.

Criscito waits for Genoa

Domenico Criscito is a wanted man but his agent insists that Genoa are in charge of his future.

The Italian international is being paired with giants such as Milan, Napoli and Fiorentina after Genoa signed full-back Luca Antonelli from Parma at the start of this month.

However, the defender's representative admits that there is nothing to discuss at this point in time.

"All I can say is that there is interest in him," noted Andrea D'Amico. "However, any interested club must first reach an agreement with Genoa.

Kharja may stay at Marassi

Houssine Kharja could remain at Genoa despite being linked with a variety of clubs this January.

The attacking midfielder was expected to move on amid interest from sides such as Bari, Fiorentina and Napoli.

He even had a telephone conversation with Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri which suggested a deal was on.

However, Kharja is still at Marassi and his agent has admitted that he could stay for the remainder of the campaign.

Genoa: No Criscito-Milan deal

Genoa have reacted with surprise to reports that they have agreed to sell Domenico Criscito to Milan.

A number of Italian news sources are this evening reporting that the two clubs have agreed terms for the Italian international.

However, the news comes just hours after President Enrico Preziosi again insisted that he wouldn't be selling Criscito in January.

"Criscito is not moving, at least not until the summer," said the Marassi patron.

Storari asks for Genoa move

Juventus goalkeeper Marco Storari would apparently like to move to Genoa, prompting the Old Lady to inquire about Federico Marchetti as a replacement.

The 33-year-old has done a great job in Turin this season, conceding just 25 goals in 24 appearances, but now that Gigi Buffon is back from injury, he is resigned to the fact that his future lies elsewhere at least if he wants to be a first team regular.

Fiorentina to discuss Criscito bid

Fiorentina have emerged as competition for Milan and Napoli in the race to sign Genoa full-back Domenico Criscito.

The Italy international's future is the subject of great speculation even though Genoa President Enrico Preziosi says he is 99 per cent staying.

La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Fiorentina director of sport Pantaleo Corvino has a meeting with Genoa today to discuss the prospect of signing Criscito.

The structure of the deal would take the form of an exchange involving either Felipe or Adrian Mutu.

Marchetti to replace Eduardo

Genoa are looking to sign Cagliari goalkeeper Federico Marchetti after Eduardo's latest howler.

The Portugal international came out of his area against Udinese on Sunday, sensationally missed the ball and allowed Antonio Di Natale to give his side a 2-1 lead.

Genoa ended up losing 4-2 to make it five games without a win in all competitions.

It's not the first time Eduardo has made a calamitous mistake since his arrival from Braga in the summer.

Lazio to close Sculli deal

Lazio are hoping to complete the signing of Genoa striker Giuseppe Sculli this week, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

Edy Reja held talks with the 29-year-old last week, but the deals hangs on whether Lazio can sign Sculli outright instead of taking the player on loan.

Il Corriere understands that Lazio President Claudio Lotito is prepared to co-own Sculli at a price of €3.5m. However, his arrival would almost certainly mean the departure of another squad player, the most likely being Mark Bresciano.

Reports in Serbia claim Genoa are very close to agreeing a deal for Partizan Belgrade striker Cleo.

The 25-year-old Brazilian has scored five goals in eight games in Europe this season.

According to Blic, Genoa have a verbal agreement with Partizan to sign the player for €4.5m.

However, the transfer appears to have stalled after Genoa failed to give the necessary financial guarantees.

Partizan believe Genoa are being tactical in an effort to get Cleo's price reduced.
