Sunday’s 3-0 defeat at Cagliari means La Dea have now shipped ten Serie A goals in just four games, more than any other team in Italy’s top flight.

“We must improve, unfortunately we have started badly,” Gasperini said post-match in Sardinia. “We need to be more solid and concede less goals.

Gasp: ‘Torino won’t be distracted’

Genoa Coach Gian Piero Gasperini is sure Torino won’t be distracted by Saturday’s derby with Juventus.

The Grifone take on the Granata in Turin tomorrow, but the tactician rejects any suggestion that Giampiero Ventura’s men could have their minds on other matters.

“The derby is in the head of the players in every city,” Gasperini admitted in his pre-match Press conference.

“But it’s like asking us if we’re thinking of Napoli. No, we’ll do Torino first, then Napoli. I expect the Torino we all know.

“Paradoxically, we played much better in the first half and deserved to be 1-0 up, then fell away after the break when against 10 men,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.
