Brozovic opens 'Epic Brozo' bar

Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic has opened his own café-bar in Croatia, named after his trademark Epic Brozo celebration.

The player started up the business with his sister Ema and urged fans to visit it via his Instagram page.

It’s set in Velika Gorica and the symbol is an emoji of his now-famous ‘Epic Brozo’ celebration.

Roma arrange Coric meeting?

Roma have reportedly arranged a meeting with the agent-father of Dinamo Zagreb starlet Ante Coric.

According to Pagine Romaniste, Roma sporting director Monchi has “set his sights” on Coric, who was previously linked with Real Madrid and is being scouted by the likes of Juventus, Sampdoria, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Mandzukic wants 'old' Juventus role

Mario Mandzukic is prompting the tactical shift at Juventus, it’s reported, as he no longer wants to be sacrificed as a left-sided winger.

The Croatia international wants to be ready for the centre-forward role at the World Cup next summer and feels his time in Turin is not being used wisely.

According to Tuttosport, Mandzukic has asked Max Allegri to get back to being a striker.

He is tired of making sacrifices and chasing opponents up and down the left flank.

Buffon: 'Replacing Rakitic at World Cup...'

Gigi Buffon thanked Ivan Rakitic offering to give up his spot at the 2018 World Cup, but the Italy goalkeeper warns “it might not be a great idea!”

Croatia booked their spot at the tournament in Russia next summer, but Buffon misses the chance to become the first man ever to play in six World Cup finals.

“I feel like telling Buffon to go in my place, as what he’s done for football is incredible, simply unique,” said Barcelona midfielder Rakitic in today’s Press conference.

Pjaca back in action for Juventus

Marko Pjaca finally makes his Juventus comeback after eight months today, featuring for the youth team against Milan.

The 22-year-old Croatia international has been out of action since the end of March, when he tore his anterior cruciate ligament during a friendly with Estonia.

He is named in the starting XI of the Juventus Primavera youth side, who take on Gennaro Gattuso’s Milan today.

Croatia qualify for World Cup

Croatia have qualified for the 2018 World Cup, with Ivan Perisic rattling the woodwork, after beating Greece 4-1 on aggregate.

The first leg victory proved enough to see them through, drawing 0-0 in Piraeus this evening.

Perisic came closest to a goal on the night, the Inter winger’s strike thumping the upright.

He goes into the tournament in Russia along with Inter teammate Marcelo Brozovic, Milan striker Nikola Kalinic, Ivan Strinic of Sampdoria and Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic.

Italy and Croatia court Ancelotti

While there are growing calls for Italy to hire Carlo Ancelotti, it’s reported Croatia are closer to the ex-Bayern Munich boss.

The Azzurri are on the verge of failing to qualify for their first World Cup since 1958, but even if they do overturn the 1-0 first leg defeat to Sweden in the play-offs, Giampiero Ventura might not stay on the bench.

Kalinic, Perisic, Rodriguez on target

Nikola Kalinic, Ivan Perisic and Ricardo Rodriguez were on target as Croatia and Switzerland won their World Cup play-off first legs.

There were several Serie A and specifically San Siro representatives in action this evening on the road to Russia 2018.

Croatia have one foot in the tournament after flattening Greece 4-1 in Zagreb.

Badelj out of Croatia squad

Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj has been forced to pull out of the Croatia squad with a thigh injury.

The 28-year-old had to be substituted after 75 minutes of the 4-2 loss to Roma, and won’t feature for his national team in their World Cup play-off against Greece.

“ACF Fiorentina announces that midfielder Milan Badelj sustained a first degree legion of the biceps femoris in his left thigh during last Sunday’s game, and for that reason he will not answer the call-up from his national team,” a statement confirmed.
