Biglia targets Coppa comeback

Lucas Biglia not only wants to play for Argentina at the World Cup, but even recover in time for Milan’s Coppa Italia Final against Juventus.

The midfielder was diagnosed with the fracture of two transverse processes of the lumbar vertebrae following a 1-0 defeat to Benevento on Saturday.

Initial reports claimed he was at serious risk of missing the World Cup this summer, but it seems he has other ideas.

Confirmed: Chiellini hamstring tear

Juventus could lose Giorgio Chiellini the rest of the season after it was confirmed the defender suffered a hamstring tear against Napoli.

Chiellini pulled up just 10 minutes into Juve’s 1-0 defeat to Napoli, and a statement on the Bianconeri’s official website explains tests on Monday showed ‘a tear to the biceps femoris muscle in his left knee’.

Season over for Chiellini?

Giorgio Chiellini has a hyper-extended knee and not a muscular problem, as Juventus confirm he’s “almost certainly” out of the Inter match.

The defender pulled up within a couple of minutes in tonight’s 1-0 defeat to Napoli and limped off 10 minutes after that.

According to Sky Sport Italia, what was initially believed to be a muscular issue is actually the hyper-extension of the knee.

Biglia has back fracture

Milan midfielder Lucas Biglia has been diagnosed with the fracture of two transverse processes of the lumbar vertebrae.

The Argentina international suffered a knock to the back during last night’s 1-0 defeat to Benevento at San Siro and had to be substituted.

A statement released by the club confirmed tests had shown the fracture of the transverse processes of the first two lumbar vertebrae.

Only over the next few days, after a specialist visitation, will there be a clearer idea of how long he’ll be out for.
