Juventus U23 win Coppa Italia

The Juventus U23 team has won its first trophy, beating Ternana 2-1 to lift the Coppa Italia Serie C under coach Fabio Pecchia.

Since the rules were changed last year to allow Italian clubs to register their B-Teams for the third division, only Juventus have taken up that option.

Their side has struggled in Serie C, but made it all the way to win the Coppa Italia Serie C this evening.

Fiorentina are, according to Corriere Fiorentino, monitoring Maurizio Sarri’s situation at Juventus, ready to offer the Tuscan coach a job in Florence.

The newspaper casts doubt over Beppe Iachini’s future at the Artemio Franchi by claiming that the Viola are following Sarri’s situation at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

The former Napoli coach has struggled to convince the fans despite bringing the Bianconeri to the top of the standings and reaching the Coppa Italia Final this term.

Insigne replaces stolen moped

Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne has gifted a new moped to a fan whose vehicle was stolen during the Coppa Italia celebrations.

The incident was caught on camera deep into the night when crowds filled the streets to mark their first trophy since 2014-15.

It later emerged the fan was called Salvatore and needed the moped for his work delivering food with Uber Eats.

Insigne heard about the story and, according to Radio Marte, made sure Salvatore received a suitable replacement.

Del Piero: 'I would have kept Mandzo'

Former hero Alessandro Del Piero has claimed Juventus made a big mistake when they let Mario Mandzukic go: “I would have kept him all day.”

The former attacker spoke about the current difficulties at the Allianz Stadium, as Juventus have played two games without scoring after the resumption.

Juventus lost the Coppa Italia Final on penalties against Napoli and the former captain misses Mandzukic in the line-up.

Doveri: 'Almost nothing had changed'

Referee Daniele Doveri has claimed it was a ‘beautiful feeling’ to be back on the pitch and revealed ‘almost nothing had changed’ during the Coppa Italia Final: “I just had to lower my voice.”

Gravina: 'No show without the fans'

FIGC chief Gabriele Gravina has called games without fans ‘half a spectacle’ but hinted that Juventus will be awarded the women’s Scudetto.

The Italian campaign restarted with the Coppa Italia final four, which Napoli won on penalties at an empty Olimpico in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

“I have to say that without the fans, it was half a spectacle,” Gravina told La Stampa.
