Dzeko happy at Roma

Roma’s Edin Dzeko insists he is happy at the club in spite of criticism following a sub-par first season in Serie A.

The 30-year-old joined the Giallorossi from Manchester City last summer, with hopes high following a successful Premier League stint.

However, he scored just 10 goals in 39 appearances last term, prompting speculation his future could lie elsewhere.

“Yes, I am still here and obviously I am happy to stay,” Bosnia international Dzeko told reporters after scoring in the friendly win over Montreal Impact.

Roma, Soleri: 'Model is Dzeko'

Roma's 17-year-old Edoardo Soleri says he is trying to steal moves from Edin Dzeko, and is delighted at his Champions League debut.

The youngster mostly still plays in the Primavera, but with Dzeko and Francesco Totti both injured and no pure poachers to replace them, Soleri has been given a chance.

“It was a unique, indescribable emotion,” he told Il Corriere dello Sport about his first Champions League game against BATE Borisov. “I couldn't believe it.

Bosnia, Dzeko trains apart

Roma striker Edin Dzeko is training apart from his Bosnia teammates and his presence against Wales is in doubt.

The former Manchester City player is considered indispensable by Giallorossi Coach Rudi Garcia, and the notion that his recovery could be rushed by the Bosnian international side leads many supporters in the capital to worry.

Bosnia's Twitter profile, as reported by RomaNewsEu.com, stated today that Dzeko trained in the gym, separately from his other teammates, suggesting that he may not make it for the game.

‘Dzeko trying to recover’

Roma striker Edin Dzeko is “trying to recover” to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina, says Mehmed Baždarević.

The summer signing has been sidelined with a knee injury in recent weeks, but has been included in the squad to face Wales and Cyprus.

While La Repubblica reports that Dzeko has given the Giallorossi his assurances that he will not play unless fully fit, Bosnia CT Baždarević strikes a slightly different tone.

“Edin is being treated in Rome, and is trying to recover,” the Coach explained in a Press conference.

Garcia: 'Injuries a concern'

Rudi Garcia couldn’t entirely celebrate Roma’s 5-1 win over Carpi, as there were three new injuries.

“As I said after Sampdoria, if we play like this, then we will win many games,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We scored five goals and could’ve had more today. The only problem is that we had to make three substitutions due to injury, so we’ll see how much it costs us.
