Napoli on Heurtaux and Widmer

Udinese hint at meeting Napoli for Thomas Heurtaux and Silvan Widmer. “If there’s an offer, we’ll discuss it.”

The two clubs have already done business this summer with Duvan Zapata joining the Friulani on a two-year loan and Allan moving to the San Paolo.

“I have no appointments with (Napoli director Cristiano) Giuntoli, but over the next few days we will all be together in Milan,” Udinese director Cristiano Giaretta told Radio Marte.

Napoli turn to De Maio

Napoli have turned to Genoa’s Sebastian De Maio because of Udinese’s high demands for Thomas Heurtaux, according to reports.

Tuttomercatoweb believe that the Zebrette have requested €8m for Heurtaux, a sum that is considered too high to pursue by Partenopei sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli.

De Maio is believed to have been targeted as the next objective for the Vesuviani, although Grifone Coach Gian Piero Gasperini is reluctant to see the centre-back go.

‘Napoli could sign Heurtaux’

Udinese President Franco Soldati says Thomas Heurtaux could be ‘valuable’ for Napoli, apparently inviting a bid.

The defender has been linked with both Roma and Lazio, but it appears the Zebrette patron would rather sell to Napoli.

“There are several clubs interested in Heutaux,” Soldati revealed in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“He’s a player a lot of teams want, not just Napoli. He can aim for clubs with more fans than ours, he could be a valuable player for Napoli.

Roma, Lazio vie for Heurtaux

Roma and Lazio have both shown interest in defender Thomas Heurtaux, but Udinese's requests may be too high.

The 27-year-old still has one year with the Zebrette on his contract, but both clubs from the capital have shown their interest.

According to Calciomercato.it, Roma and Lazio both probed for the player's availability.

While Heurtaux himself is believed to be open to the idea of a move, President Giampaolo Pozzo's request of €10m is reportedly seen as excessive by the Roman clubs, who could turn their attention elsewhere.

Serie A Team of Week 5

It was a day for foreigners, freak goals and free-kicks in Serie A as Dave Taylor picks his best XI from Week 5.

Jean Francois-Gillet [Torino]

Although the Belgian had periods of inactivity he was always alert, especially when saving three times in quick succession from Khouma Babacar and a sensational reaction save from Alberto Aquilani’s free-kick. Not faultless for the goal but otherwise superb. Vigilant.
