Napoli make new Chiesa bid

Napoli will use their game against Fiorentina to make another approach for Federico Chiesa, but the winger is valued at €60m.

The two teams face off on Sunday and Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis has made no secret of his attempts to sign Chiesa.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, this match will give ADL the opportunity to ask yet again.

The 20-year-old only signed a new contract with the Viola last month and his price-tag has therefore sky-rocketed even higher to around €60m.

Rodriguez: ‘Italian football is difficult’

Milan full-back Ricardo Rodriguez admits “Italian football is very difficult”, though training isn’t as hard as under Felix Magath.

The Swiss left-back joined the Rossoneri from Wolfsburg this summer, and spoke to the magazine Forza Milan! about his adaptation.

“I haven’t been here long, but I can say that Italian football is very difficult,” Rodriguez explained.

“Because the teams are all compact and organised, it’s difficult to score in Italy. In Germany you play more openly.

Inter join Origi race

Inter have joined the race to sign Belgium international Divock Origi on loan from Liverpool, claim TMW.

The 22-year-old is on the market, as he was not even in the squad for two of the five games so far this season.

If they push for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar – who has been replaced by Keita Balde Diao tonight – then Origi will be moved on.

Olympique Marseille are said to be the favourites for Origi, followed by Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Sampdoria, Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen.

Fiorentina defeat Wolfsburg

Fiorentina beat Germans Wolfsburg 2-0 in a friendly with goals from Nikola Kalinic and Federico Chiesa.

Stefano Pioli’s side impressed in the pre-season outing, especially striker Kalinic, who has been linked with a move to Milan or Inter.

Within 120 seconds, the Croatia international had tested the opposition goalkeeper with a header, then Carlos Sanchez tested him from distance.

Camacho drilled wide, but on 38 minutes Kalinic ran on to a great assist from new signing Jordan Veretout and dinked it past the on-rushing Koen Casteels.

Kalinic in Fiorentina squad

Milan target Nikola Kalinic has been named in the Fiorentina squad for their pre-season tournament in Germany.

It’s thought the Croatian striker has agreed terms with the Rossoneri, and he has twice been granted leave from the pre-season training camp.

However, the Diavolo have so far only offered €25m, which is €5m short of the Viola’s asking price for Kalinic.

Stefano Pioli’s side will face Eintracht Braunschweig and Wolfsburg in Germany, with the former game taking place tomorrow.

Inter face Martial competition?

Inter reportedly face competition from Wolfsburg for Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial.

Kicker claims Wolfsburg have enquired about taking Martial on loan and that there would be scope for an agreement.

However, Tuttomercatoweb is less confident, describing the German club’s proposal as “timid”.

Inter reportedly wanted Manchester United to include Martial in their deal for Ivan Perisic, whose club prior to the Nerazzurri was Wolfsburg.
