Milan loan idea for Demiral

Juventus could loan Merih Demiral to Milan so he can get more playing time, claim RAI Sport, but need permission from Sassuolo.

The Turkey international made the move to Juve for €18m, but with Matthijs de Ligt incoming from Ajax and only six months of Serie A football under his belt, a loan to Milan is possible.

This is also because the Rossoneri have been quoted huge prices for the likes of Dejan Lovren and Matija Nastasic, so would gladly accept a very promising 21-year-old centre-back on loan.

Sassuolo deny Juve synergy

Sassuolo have denied that a blatant synergy exists between them and Juventus, accusing the Press of spin.

Sassuolo have done plenty of business with Juve since their promotion to Serie A in 2014, and it was speculated there was already an agreement in place for Merih Demiral to join the Old Lady in January.

The same appears to be the case with Hamed Traore, but sporting director Giovanni Rossi was quick to stress how little had been made of his club’s dealings with Inter and Roma.

Atalanta squatters at San Siro

Football Italia Chief Correspondent Richard Hall knows allowing Atalanta to play Champions League games at San Siro makes sense, but still feels wrong.

Perhaps it’s the decommissioning of ‘battleship San Siro’ that has triggered such contempt. What could make the news that one of the world’s greatest stadiums, is to be demolished and be rebuilt, worse? Both representatives from Inter’s Curva Nord and Milan’s Curva Sud were up in arms this week as it was announced that Atalanta would play their Champions League games in the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. For them, it is certainly salt into a very raw wound, but for Italian Football and Le Dea, it seems an absolute must.

The 19-year-old was part of Empoli’s eye-catching midfield last season, scoring two goals and providing as many assists in 32 Serie A appearances.
