Inter: Duncan if no Vidal?

Inter will reportedly target Sassuolo midfielder Alfred Duncan in January if they cannot agree a deal with Barcelona for Arturo Vidal.

A new midfielder is high on Inter's list of priorities this winter, given Antonio Conte has made no secret of his desire for more options in the middle of the park.

According to Tuttosport, Conte is demanding a reunion with ex-Juventus midfielder Vidal in January, but Barca seem unwilling to let him leave midseason.

Highlights: Sassuolo 3-1 Bologna

Francesco ‘Ciccio’ Caputo returned and his impressive brace earned Sassuolo victory over Bologna in the Emilia-Romagna Derby.

The Friday night Serie A match saw the Neroverdi take bragging rights from their more illustrious local rivals and surpass them in the standings too.

Jeremie Boga also showed his impressive pace and cool head to find the net, while Riccardo Orsolini scored with an unorthodox finish.

It was Caputo’s solo effort that stole the show at the Mapei Stadium, though.

Tommasi: 'Ritiros need scrapping'

Players’ chief Damiano Tommasi feels the time has come for clubs to scrap midseason retreats and saw nothing wrong with Antonio Conte’s comments.

Napoli were sent into ‘ritiro’ as punishment for their recent poor form but instead went against the wishes of President Aurelio De Laurentis, going straight home after their 1-1 draw with RB Salzburg on Tuesday.

That has left the club in a tense situation, but Tommasi disagreed the Partenopei acted unsportingly, instead calling for an end to punitive training camps.

Line-ups: Sassuolo-Bologna

Sassuolo go with Francesco Caputo up front this evening against a Bologna side who unleash Andreas Skov Olsen out wide.

Caputo leads Sassuolo’s trident attack in place of Gregoire Defrel, flanked by Jeremie Boga and Italy call-up Domenico Berardi.

The 32-year-old scored 16 goals for Empoli last season and already has three for his new team, as well as three assists.

Elsewhere, it is all change for the Neroverdi in midfield, where Filip Djuricic and Francesco Magnanelli come in for Hamed Traore and Pedro Obiang.

Probable line-ups: Sassuolo-Bologna

Marlon is back for Sassuolo as Roberto De Zerbi prepares to stick with the same tactics against a Bologna side struggling for firepower.

Sassuolo and Bologna are within touching distance of each other in the Serie A table, and De Zerbi will stick to an attacking 4-3-3 against the 13th-placed Rossoblu this evening.

The Neroverdi have been boosted by the return of Marlon, who is set to partner Filippo Romagna in the heart of defence.

Alfred Duncan and Manuel Locatelli will be on either side of 34-year-old Francesco Magnanelli in midfield.
