Serie A quartet in Brazil squad

Alex Sandro, Lucas Paqueta and Allan, as well as Udinese’s Samir, are in the Brazil squad for upcoming friendlies with Colombia and Peru.

Sandro, Paqueta and Allan all keep their places from Brazil’s Copa America conquest earlier in the summer.

There is also a first-ever call-up for Samir [pictured], who takes advantage of an injury to Flamengo defender Rodrigo Caio.

The Selecao host Colombia on September 7 before taking on Copa America runners-up Peru four days later.

Atleti bid €55m for Allan

Napoli have reportedly rejected a €55m bid from Atletico Madrid for midfielder Allan.

This is not the first time Allan has been the subject of a big-money offer as Paris Saint-Germain tried to sign him in January.

Atleti, for their part, have money to burn after making over €300m in player sales and lost midfield enforcer Rodri Hernandez to Manchester City.

However, Tuttosport claims Napoli deemed the offer too low for a player of the Brazilian’s importance.

Elmas a rough diamond for Napoli

The Partenopei won the race for Fenerbahce’s Eljif Elmas and Vilizar Yakimov believes the Macedonian teenager can flourish under Carlo Ancelotti.

It’s safe to say that Napoli’s summer mercato has somewhat gone under the radar, especially compared to Juventus’ and Inter’s big-money transfers. The Partenopei have been mainly working on their defence so far, as they already secured the signatures of Kostas Manolas and Empoli’s Giovanni Di Lorenzo, while also confirming the permanent transfers of goalkeeping duo Alex Meret and Davide Ospina.

Copa America: Brazil victorious

Brazil have won the Copa America after beating Peru 3-1, but Gabriel Jesus was sent off, with Alex Sandro and Allan playing.

The Selecao were made to fight harder than expected in the Final, as Everton’s opener was cancelled out by a Paolo Guerrero penalty for Thiago Silva handball.

That was the first and only goal ex-Roma ‘keeper Alisson Becker conceded during the tournament.

After the break, Gabriel Jesus added to his assist with a goal, but was then sent off for a second bookable offence.

ADL: Insigne & Allan could go, if...

Aurelio De Laurentiis has suggested that Lorenzo Insigne and Allan can leave Napoli for the right price, as long as they have time to replace them.

Napoli are on the verge of signing Roma defender Kostas Manolas in part exchange for Amadou Diawara, and De Laurentiis is excited about the ‘great partnership’ he will form with Kalidou Koulibaly.

“All great teams start from a great defence. Manolas and Koulibaly could form a great partnership, like we’ve had in the past,” he told Sport Mediaset.

Napoli: Allan & Insigne not for sale

Napoli have declared that Lorenzo Insigne and Allan are not for sale, accusing Gazzetta dello Sport of running ‘the first big hoax of the season’.

La Gazzetta had claimed that Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti was open to letting Allan and Insigne leave for a combined €130m, which would in turn fund deals for Hirving Lozano, James Rodriguez and Kostas Manolas.

However, the club tweeted: “La Gazza writes Ancelotti would have said ‘OK’ to the sales of Allan and Insigne. We call it the first big hoax of the season.

Allan: 'James welcome, Sarri is not'

Napoli midfielder Allan hopes James Rodriguez joins him at the Stadio San Paolo, but Maurizio Sarri is “just an opponent” now at Juventus.

The 28-year-old is currently with Brazil at the Copa America and has been subject to transfer rumours about a possible switch to Paris Saint-Germain.

He is joined in that tournament by Colombia international attacking midfielder James Rodriguez, who is reportedly on the verge of joining the Azzurri.

PSG eye Koulibaly and Allan

Paris Saint-Germain are not just targeting Napoli midfielder Allan, but also defender Kalidou Koulibaly, claim reports in France.

Their interest in Brazil international Allan is nothing new, as they saw a bid worth over €50m rejected in January and are expected to try again this summer.

However, Telefoot now suggest PSG are also going for his teammate Koulibaly.

It’d be a very costly operation, as Napoli have already turned down €90m for the Senegal international, who was named Defender of the Season in Serie A.

The 26-year-old Frenchman has been repeatedly linked with a Stadio San Paolo switch in recent months.

The Partenopei had fought back from 2-0 down to equalise through Faouzi Ghoulam and Dries Mertens, but Federico Santander completed his brace to give Bologna the 3-2 victory.
