Cancelo to Juventus next week

Juventus are due to complete their transfer for Valencia full-back Joao Cancelo next week at a cost of €38-40m.

According to numerous sources, the deal is done and will not be a loan with option or obligation to buy, but rather a permanent signing.

The Portugal international is fresh from a loan spell at Inter, but the Nerazzurri refused to meet the €40m option to buy at the end of the season.

Valencia need to finalise the move before June 30 and do it as a transfer rather than a loan in order to resolve their Financial Fair Play issues.

Arnautovic in Joao Mario switch?

Inter are trying to sell Joao Mario to West Ham United in a part-exchange deal with Marko Arnautovic, it’s reported.

It would be a return to San Siro for the Austria international striker, who had a very disappointing loan period at Inter from FC Twente in 2009-10.

He ended up moving from Stoke City to West Ham for €22.3m last summer and scored 11 goals with eight assists in 35 competitive games.

Juve strike €38m Cancelo deal

Valencia agreed a slight discount on their €40m asking price and it’s expected to be a definitive sale rather than a loan with obligation to buy.

The 24-year-old impressed this season on loan at Inter, but the club refused to pay the €40m option to make the move permanent.

Hervé Renard’s side were the better team for the majority of the game, but an early lapse in concentration sent them home.

It didn’t take long for Portugal to open the scoring, and there was never any doubt about where the goal would come from.

Bernardo Silva opted to take a short corner to Joao Moutinho, who swung the ball into the box.

WC Player Profile: Andre Silva

The World Cup is a huge opportunity for Andre Silva to prove he belongs at Milan and is worth another Serie A season, writes Matthew Santangelo.

Arguably a flop for the Rossoneri after his €38m transfer from Porto, his record at international level for Portugal is remarkable.

The 22-year-old has 12 goals in just 21 senior caps and is expected to start this evening's big match against Spain alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

This tournament in Russia could well be decisive for the future of a forward who deserves another chance in Serie A.
