Juve present Haaland terms

Juventus have reportedly made the first offer to Erling Braut Haaland of €3m per season after it emerged he had a €30m RB Salzburg release clause.

The 19-year-old striker has been lighting up Europe this term with 28 goals in 21 competitive games, including eight in five Champions League matches.

His price-tag was already reaching €80m, but reports swirled around this week that there was a release clause in his contract allowing him to walk away for €30m.

Big impact for Smalling

Chris Smalling has been a revelation for Roma and never more impressive than neutralising Inter’s Romelu Lukaku, writes Emmet Gates.

England boss Gareth Southgate chose the right game to take a weekend break to Milan and watch Serie A’s most in-form defender, Chris Smalling.

Southgate had obviously heard the good reports emanating out of Italy about Smalling’s performances since arriving in the Eternal City, and with Euro 2020 around the corner, decided to see what all the fuss was about.

Southgate watches Smalling

England boss Gareth Southgate was in the stands during Roma’s match with Inter at San Siro last night to watch Chris Smalling.

The Daily Mirror reports that Southgate, along with assistant Steve Holland, are assessing their defensive options ahead of Euro 2020 and wanted to see the on-loan Manchester United defender in action.

Smalling hasn’t played for The Three Lions since June 2017, but has been impressive since joining the Giallorossi on a season-long loan.

Solskjaer: 'Smalling will come back'

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Chris Smalling will return to Manchester United at the end of the season as he continues to impress for Roma.

Smalling joined Roma on loan at the end of the summer transfer window, and the Giallorossi have made it clear that they would like to make the move permanent as soon as possible.

However, Solskjaer was adamant the 30-year-old would be back at United once his campaign-long arrangement had expired.

“Yeah [he will return],” he replied to a question about the Englishman a press conference.

Juve: Pogba wants out?

Paul Pogba has reportedly decided to leave Manchester United, but it is claimed he would prefer a move to Real Madrid over a return to Juventus.

Juve have been mentioned as a possible destination for Pogba, should he decide to depart Old Trafford.

L’Equipe reports that he has made his mind up but also that he would prefer to join Madrid as opposed to a second stint in Turin.

Despite that, the newspaper writes that has not affected the Bianconeri’s interest in the 26-year-old.

Lukaku 'happy thanks to Inter'

Belgium CT Roberto Martinez claims Romelu Lukaku’s form at Inter is down to his relationship with Antonio Conte and that he feels “more at ease” in Milan.

“It seems clear to me that there’s a feeling between him and Conte,” he told Corriere dello Sport. “The transfer to the Nerazzurri made him feel more at ease.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly unimpressed with the contract proposal put forward by Milan and optimism over a deal is diminishing fast.

The 38-year-old is a free agent after his contract with LA Galaxy was allowed to run down and is looking for a return to European football.

Milan had been the favourites, considering he already played at San Siro from 2010-12 and was always very enthusiastic about his love for the club.
