Giants ready to pounce for Lautaro

Barcelona and Inter continue to negotiate for Lautaro Martinez, including Junior Firpo and Nelson Semedo, but Real Madrid, Manchester United and Liverpool lie in wait.

The striker has a release clause worth €111m, which the Blaugrana seem unwilling or unable to meet, especially if they cannot sell other players to raise funds first.

Talks to include players as part of the deal have also hit problems, with the two clubs unable to decide on the correct valuation of these figures.

Zaniolo and Nainggolan reverse transfer?

In a remarkable twist, it’s reported Nicolò Zaniolo could return to Inter in exchange for cash plus Radja Nainggolan – the exact reverse of the move that took him to Roma.

The decision to include Zaniolo as part of the Nainggolan deal in 2018 is probably the highlight of Monchi’s Giallorossi career, as the teenager proved to be a huge hit.

Whereas Zaniolo has gone from strength to strength, Nainggolan struggled at Inter and was loaned to Cagliari.

Everton favourites for Rabiot

Everton are the current favourites for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to Italian sources, ahead of Manchester United.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star joined Juve as a free agent last summer, but has struggled to get any regular playing time.

His delay in returning to Italy after the lockdown was lifted last month also irritated the club.

A sale in order to raise funds is likely, with Tuttosport pointing to Everton as his probable destination, where he’ll get to work with Carlo Ancelotti.

Arthur to change mind on Juventus?

Tuttosport claim Arthur Melo could still change his mind about joining Juventus in a straight swap with Miralem Pjanic going to Barcelona.

It has been suggested by multiple sources over the last few weeks that the deal was practically done until Arthur refused to leave Camp Nou.

The Bianconeri and Blaugrana have both been working behind the scenes to convince him and, according to Tuttosport, it might be making an impact at last.

Man Utd 80m not enough for Koulibaly

Manchester United are offering €80m for Kalidou Koulibaly, claim Sky Sport Italia, but Napoli are holding out for at least €100m.

The defender is also a known transfer target for Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, with suggestions in the French media this week that he’d prefer PSG to either Premier League side.

According to Sky Sport Italia this evening, Manchester United have put forward a proposal worth €80m for the Senegal international.

However, the Partenopei want at least €100m in order to let the centre-back leave.

Lingard asking about Milan life

English reports suggest Jesse Lingard is eager to join Milan and spoke to former Manchester United teammates Ashley Young and Chris Smalling about Serie A life.

The Independent newspaper, Metro and others all state that Lingard is ready to leave Old Trafford after losing his place under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He had already been linked with Milan in the past and hiring agent Mino Raiola only reinforced that idea.

It’s reported 27-year-old England international Lingard has called up his former teammates to ask how they are doing in Serie A.
