Juventus juggle Eriksen, Hernanes

Juventus are after Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen, but may be willing to turn towards Inter's Hernanes as an alternative.

The Bianconeri's interest in the Danish midfielder was hinted at yesterday, and reports today are corroborating the story.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, sporting director Beppe Marotta would be willing to offer Fernando Llorente plus a sum of money to cover the €18m requested by Spurs.

Hernanes: ‘Inter are growing’

Inter midfielder Hernanes believes the team is growing under Roberto Mancini - ‘this will be our season’.

The Nerazzurri have shown poor form in pre-season, losing all of their friendlies on the tour of China, but the Brazilian international is not concerned.

“I see a growing team,” Hernanes told Mediaset.

“It will be our season, more than it will be mine. The defeats in pre-season are steps along the path, we’re working to improve.

‘Pre-season not about goals’

Hernanes is not worried by Inter’s failure to score in pre-season as ‘our focus has been on fitness’.

The Nerazzurri were defeated 3-0 by Real Madrid earlier today, the third time in a row they have failed to score, following matches against Bayern Munich and Milan.

“We played very well in the first half and created chances that we should have scored from,” Hernanes explained to the Press after the match.

Hernanes said he feels “stronger” than ever, while Inter Coach Roberto Mancini “changed me” into a trequartista.

The former Lazio midfielder spoke to Inter Channel in Shanghai, where the team is taking part in the International Champions Cup.

Hernanes: 'Inter can win Scudetto'

Hernanes believes Inter “can challenge for the Scudetto” this season and denies he’s on the transfer market.

The Brazilian spoke to reporters after the first friendly of the summer, a 4-3 victory over Stuttgart Kickers.

“It’s good to start with a win, because even if it was a friendly, we know that this year we can’t afford to give anyone a way in,” said the midfielder.

Liverpool look to Hernanes

Inter seem determined to keep Mateo Kovacic, so Liverpool could go for teammate Hernanes instead.

The Nerazzurri have been investing heavily on their midfield over the summer, buying Geoffrey Kondogbia from Monaco and expected to sign Giannelli Imbula from Olympique Marseille too.

This means someone has to go in the current squad and until now Kovacic was the favourite, but Liverpool baulked at the €30m asking price.

Instead, the Daily Express and Tuttomercatoweb claim that Inter asked if the Reds would be interested in his teammate Hernanes.

Inter without Guarin, Hernanes

Fredy Guarin and Hernanes are Inter’s only high-profile absentees from their squad to face Juventus in Saturday’s Derby d’Italia.

Brazil international Hernanes is suspended while Guarin misses out through injury, which could hand Xherdan Shaqiri an opportunity to start the match.

Champions League finalists Juventus have already wrapped up the Scudetto, but Inter are still targeting Europa League qualification.

Hernanes sorry for celebration

The Brazilian international scored twice in a heated 2-1 win for the Nerazzurri in which the Aquile had two men controversially sent off.

The celebration infuriated many of the Lazio supporters who saw it as a sign of disrespect, and Hernanes took to Facebook to clarify his intentions.
