Walter Mazzarri said Inter “need to be more clinical if we want to compete for the top” after a 2-0 win over Atalanta.

“We started well and created good early chances, which wasn’t easy against Atalanta, who make life difficult for everyone. We barely allowed them anything,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Inter Coach Walter Mazzarri insists he is not worried by Brazilian midfielder Hernanes’ slow start to the season.

The 29-year-old joined the Nerazzurri in a €20m deal last January, but has come in for some criticism so far this season.

“He hasn’t been as bad as people have made out,” defended Mazzarri in a Press conference ahead of his side’s game against Atalanta tomorrow.

Hernanes warned Inter not to underestimate Europa League opponents Stjarnan. “Anyone can hurt you.”

The Nerazzurri travel to Iceland for the first leg of their play-off on Wednesday evening.

“It will require great concentration,” the Brazilian told Inter Channel.
