Genoa want Hernanes, Carmona

Genoa are reportedly considering Atalanta’s Carlos Carmona and Juventus’ Hernanes for their midfield.

Miguel Veloso and Luca Rigoni are both injured, leaving the Grifone with a midfield emergency ahead of the Fiorentina game.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, the port city side are negotiating for both Carmona and Hernanes, though the latter is also wanted by Fenerbahce.

Genoa are looking to get deals completed as quickly as possible, given the lack of reinforcements available to Ivan Juric.

Fenerbahce ask Juventus for Hernanes

Fenerbahce have approached Juventus for Hernanes, claim reports in Turkey, asking for a loan with €5m option to buy.

According to AMK Spor, Fener are turning their attention towards the Brazilian after seeing their initial offer for Milan’s Jose Ernesto Sosa rejected.

The proposal on the table is a six-month loan with option to buy for €5m at the end of the season.

However, Juventus would likely only let him go on a permanent transfer.

Hernanes rejects Genoa and Hebei

Juventus midfielder Hernanes has reportedly turned down both Genoa and Hebei China Fortune.

According to Tuttosport, the Brazilian is determined to stay in Turin and fight for his place.

Under contract until June 2018, Hernanes is believed by many to be on the way out of Vinovo during the January transfer window.

However, Genoa cannot afford his €2.7m per year wages.

The salary is no issue for Hebei China Fortune, but it’s reported the €8m per season are not enough to tempt him into a move to Asia.

Genoa press for Hernanes

Juventus will discuss a potential transfer of midfielder Hernanes with Genoa in the coming days.

The 31-year-old was on the brink of a move to the Grifone on Transfer Deadline Day in the summer, but the when a deal between Juve and Zenit St. Petersburg collapsed for Axel Witsel, Hernanes returned to Turin.

According to Tuttosport, the Brazilian is the first choice of President Enrico Preziosi, and is pressing hard for a loan move with a view to a permanent deal.

The two clubs are said to be set to discuss the issue on Monday or Tuesday next week.

Valencia weigh up Kondogbia

Reports suggest that Cesare Prandelli could look to Geoffrey Kondogbia of Inter in order to bolster his midfield.

The La Liga outfit are currently 17th in the table, picking up just two points in their last five games.

Kondogbia was heavily criticised by former Inter boss Frank de Boer, but could try to resurrect his Nerazzurri career under new Coach Stefano Pioli.

Spanish newspaper Superdeporte reports that Valencia are assessing the situation with the Frenchman, and are also looking at Juventus midfielder Hernanes as an alternative.

MLS option for Hernanes

Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy are reportedly interested in Juventus midfielder Hernanes.

The Brazilian joined the Bianconeri from Inter last summer, but has been criticised by fans and media for his performances.

It was expected that he would move on in the summer, but the 31-year-old was not keen on any of the options.

Now TuttoJuve is reporting the MLS outfit LA Galaxy are keen to bring Hernanes to the United States.

Flop of the Year contenders

The nominations for the Bidone d’Oro award – given to the worst foreign import in Serie A – include Hernanes, Ravel Morrison and Geoffrey Kondogbia.

The comical trophy has been going for many years (translating as The Golden Bin) and the 2015 winner was Juan Manuel Iturbe for his Roma performances.

A jury of journalists picked the ‘Flop 10’ and the final vote will now be held on the Calciobidoni.it website.

Pioli wants Rincon & Badelj

Inter Coach Stefano Pioli is interested in Tomas Rincon of Genoa and Fiorentina’s Milan Badelj in a bid to reinforce his side's midfield.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Lazio boss has stated that midfield reinforcements are needed, and matches against Milan and Fiorentina have convinced the Chinese owners that this is indeed the case.

This is further enhanced by the fact that the Coach will reportedly prefer Gary Medel in central defence, one the Chilean has returned from injury after the Winter Break.

Hernanes: Genoa links nice, but...

Hernanes admits Genoa’s interest “is nice to hear” but insists he is only focusing on Juventus’ upcoming matches.

Hernanes has featured extensively in Juve’s midfield this season, scoring against Pescara on Saturday, but Genoa continue to make no secret of their desire to sign the Brazilian.

“Genoa? It’s nice to hear these things, but at the moment my head is only in the game against Sevilla,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
