Hernanes suffers the cold

Lazio midfield playmaker Hernanes insists he is happy at the club, but claims the cold temperatures in Rome at this time of year have taken him by surprise.

The 25-year-old Brazil international has proven to be a revelation since his arrival from Sao Paulo in the summer, inspiring Lazio to second place in Serie A.

"As soon as I finish training I go back to my family," Hernanes told

"We are at home and play with the kids also because the cold has arrived in Rome. It's 8 or 9 degrees."

Hernanes: 'My dream match'

Hernanes scored a fine goal in Lazio's victory over Inter last night. “I had been dreaming of a game like this.”

The Brazilian completed the 3-1 rout at the Stadio Olimpico on Friday evening and put his side level top with Milan.

“It was a great performance from everybody, with effort and a lot of hunger,” said Hernanes.

“I had been of a game like this for a long time, with a goal and an assist leading to victory. Thanks to God I managed it. Now we hope to stay up there.”

Hernanes: Lazio will fight for big finish

Lazio will fight to stay in the upper echelons of the table, according to Hernanes, the team's Brazilian playmaker.

The Biancocelesti currently lie in second place, just three points behind Milan as the winter break approaches in Serie A.

"Our mentality is clear," he said. "We must think one game at a time and try to stay at the top for as long as possible.

"We'll see what our position is at the end of the season. We'll finish in a position that will make us happy."

Hernanes: 'I'll score in the derby'

Hernanes is known as ‘The Prophet' and his latest missive regards the Rome derby this afternoon. “I will score.”

The Lazio midfielder has been a revelation this season as his side leads the Serie A standings.

“As soon as I arrived in Rome, I realised what an extraordinary atmosphere surrounds the derby,” said the Brazilian.

“The derbies are also very passionate in Brazil, but in Rome it must be something crazy. I cannot wait to experience it.
