Di Livio: 'Hernanes best in Serie A'

Angelo Di Livio believes Juventus will get back on track, as “Hernanes is the best trequartista in Serie A.”

The Bianconeri started the season with two consecutive defeats, their worst ever opening to a top flight campaign.

“I think those two losses will wake the team up, so we’ll see the old concentration and determination against Chievo,” Di Livio told Tuttomercatoweb.

“As far as I can see, Juve will be on a par with Roma this season.”

Hernanes: ‘No Juventus excuses’

Hernanes says ‘there are no excuses’ and Juventus must start winning immediately.

The Bianconeri have lost their opening two matches of the season, which most have put down to new players needing time to settle.

However, the midfielder, himself a new arrival, is in no mood to accept anything less than three points against Chievo on Saturday.

“There are two things to talk about,” Hernanes told Sky when asked if the team needs time to settle.

Juventus made Vazquez bid?

Juventus reportedly bid €17m for Franco Vazquez this summer, before the arrival of Hernanes.

The Bianconeri spent the summer looking for a trequartista, but failed in their pursuits of Schalke’s Julian Draxler and Mario Gotze of Bayern Munich.

Brazilian international Hernanes eventually arrived for an €11m fee on deadline day, but Calciomercato reports that a number of bids for Vazquez were also submitted.

Marotta: Cuadrado 'like Tevez'

Beppe Marotta sees “analogies” between Carlos Tevez and Juan Cuadrado, then explained Juventus’ Hernanes swoop.

The general manager spoke to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper about the many changes in Turin over the summer.

“I do see analogies between the arrival of Cuadrado and those of Tevez and Andrea Pirlo, as they too were signed amid scepticism and did great things,” said Marotta.

Marotta: 'No new Hamsik bid'

Juventus director Beppe Marotta insists “we won’t resume talks with Napoli for Marek Hamsik in January.”

Both clubs confirmed there were negotiations during the summer and Tuttosport claimed there will be another proposal mid-season.

Hernanes: ‘Juventus still number one’

Hernanes believes Juventus are still the best team in Italy, and is looking forward to playing in the Champions League.

The Brazilian midfielder joined the Bianconeri from Inter on deadline day in an €11m move, and despite a poor start, believes his new side are still the team to beat.

“Inter or Juventus? It’s hard to say,” Hernanes mused in an interview with Globoesporte.

“At this point, I’d say Juventus. The numbers prove it. Juventus have have just won four consecutive Scudetti, so they’re superior.

Hernanes defends ‘Calciopoli’ quotes

Hernanes insists his words upon signing for Inter were not a dig at new team Juventus.

The Brazilian international made a point of stressing that the Nerazzurri had never been relegated to Serie B when he arrived from Lazio, with the Old Lady having been demoted in 2006 in the wake of the Calciopoli scandal.

When it was announced on Monday that the midfielder would be moving to Turin, his words were inevitably dragged up, but Hernanes played down their significance.

Tardelli: ‘Hernanes right for Juve’

“Hernanes can be the right trequartista for [Coach Max] Allegri,” Tardelli told Tuttosport.

“If the Brazilian fits in well in his new environment then he could even be the piece that completes the puzzle.
