Besiktas ask Roma for Olsen

Besiktas are the latest club linked with Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen, currently on loan at Cagliari, after Sporting CP interest.

The Sweden international had a dismal debut Serie A season, so was loaned out to Cagliari, where is again not first choice either.

A summer sale would be preferable, but only if making back some of the €9m spent in 2018.

A statement released by the Portuguese club also confirmed the €45m release clause.

“This renewal shows that the club believes in me and I believe in the club,” Quaresma told the official Sporting CP website.

Sporting CP look to Olsen

Reports in Portugal suggest Sporting CP are ready to swoop for Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen, currently on loan at Cagliari.

The Sweden international was sent out to Sardinia after a disappointing first year in Serie A.

According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Sporting CP see Olsen as a potential replacement for sought-after Luis Maximiano.

The Giallorossi are eager to make a sale, as Olsen has been something of a flop since joining from FC Copenhagen for €9m in the summer of 2018.

Sporting: 'No Samp rights for Fernandes'

Sporting CP released a statement insisting Sampdoria do not have the right to €4.6m from the Bruno Fernandes transfer to Manchester United, as it will go to FIFA.

Samp sold the midfielder to Sporting in the summer of 2017 and he was then transferred to Manchester United in January 2020 for €46.5m plus bonuses.

While the Blucerchiati claim they are owed a €4.6m cut of that fee, the Portuguese side released their own statement today.
