Official: Verona extend with Faraoni

Hellas Verona have officially announced the extension of Davide Faraoni’s deal at the Bentegodi until June 2024.

The 29-year-old arrived from Crotone in January 2019, initially on loan for six months, before signing a permanent deal in July 2019.

His previous deal expired in June 2022 and the right-back has officially extended and committed to Ivan Juric’s side for the next four seasons.

Pirlo: 'Juve must adapt to particular period'

Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo said the unusual results come from ‘a somewhat particular period for everyone’ and stressed the Old Lady must ‘adapt quickly’.

Another two points dropped in a 1-1 draw with Hellas Verona is of concern for the new coach, who said the Bianconeri ‘knew the current situation’ would be difficult.

Favilli: Verona’s unlikely hero

Andrea Favilli has Juventus in his destiny as his goal put Verona ahead against the Old Lady, the club that signed him twice, writes Lorenzo Bettoni.

Minute 54 of Juventus-Verona. Andrea Favilli replaces Nikola Kalinic who had made his first start of the season for the Giallublu. Six minutes later, the 23-year-old scores a close-range goal to put his side ahead against the Old Lady but he celebrates holding his injured leg and he is forced to leave the pitch one minute afterwards.

Highlights: Juventus 1-1 Verona

It was an intense match in Turin, with disallowed goals, woodwork rattled, Andrea Favilli’s Verona opener and an inspired Dejan Kulusevski equaliser.

The Bianconeri thought they had taken the lead before half-time with an Alvaro Morata chip, but it was ruled narrowly offside.

Juan Cuadrado and Paulo Dybala thumped the frame of the goal, while Favilli came off the bench to score the Hellas opener and injured himself in the process.

Pirlo: 'Juve shouldn't need slap to wake up'

Andrea Pirlo warns Juventus ‘shouldn’t need a slap in the face to wake up and play with intensity’ after their 1-1 draw with Hellas Verona.

The fact remains, the Bianconeri have won only one Serie A match on the field this season, their first 3-0 against Sampdoria.

They drew with Roma, Crotone and Verona, while the Napoli fixture was handed to them 3-0 after it was cancelled.

Juric: 'Verona should've held on'

Ivan Juric had regrets leaving the Juventus Stadium with only a 1-1 draw, as he felt Hellas Verona ‘didn’t have the right energy after taking the lead.’

Hellas had gone in front through Andrea Favilli, who injured himself during the goal, and were pegged back by Dejan Kulusevski’s moment of magic.

The Veronese club have conceded only two goals in five Serie A rounds, despite missing several key players, and are on eight points, just one shy of Juve.
