Zaccagni makes his mark on Napoli

With reports linking Mattia Zaccagni with a summer move to Napoli, the midfielder found the net against his possible future club for Hellas Verona.

The 25-year-old has five goals and seven assists in 19 Serie A games so far this season.

The Italian netted Verona’s third goal in their 3-1 win over Napoli today.

Ironically, Zaccagni is reported to be in talks to move under the Vesuvius next season.

Even though Hirving Lozano made history for Napoli, they still saw Hellas Verona turn the game on its head for a 3-1 victory with Federico Dimarco, Antonin Barak and Mattia Zaccagni.

Gattuso 'can't buy determination at supermarket'

Gennaro Gattuso was frustrated by Napoli falling apart against Verona and transforming in the second half. ‘You can’t just go to the supermarket and ask for €10 of determination.’

The Partenopei had the perfect start with Chucky Lozano scoring within nine seconds, the quickest in the club’s Serie A history and third of all time, but Federico Dimarco, Antonin Barak and Mattia Zaccagni turned it around for a 3-1 Verona victory.

Juric: ‘Verona’s best game’

Hellas Verona coach Ivan Juric says his side played their best game of the season against Napoli and praises Mattia Zaccagni: ‘He’s becoming a leader.’

Hellas stunned Napoli with a 3-1 home draw on Sunday.

“I think it was the best game of the season, it’s never easy to play against Napoli, the guys played very well, it was an extraordinary match,” Juric told Sky Sport Italia.

Lozano scores fastest goal in Napoli’s history

Hirving Lozano’s goal against Hellas Verona after roughly nine seconds is the fastest in the history of Napoli.

Federico Dimarco completely missed the ball allowing the Mexican winger to score after just 8.9 seconds in the first half.

The former PSV’s goal is fastest one in the history of the Azzurri.

The previous record belonged to Giovanni Venditto who scored the winner in a Napoli-Fiorentina in January 1942 after barely 20 seconds.

Osimhen back in Napoli squad

Victor Osimhen is back in full training with Napoli after recovering from both COVID-19 and a dislocated shoulder.

The striker has been out of action since dislocating his shoulder in November while on international duty for Nigeria.

He then contracted COVID while on vacation in his homeland during the Christmas break.

Osimhen was given the all-clear from the Coronavirus yesterday and today underwent tests on his shoulder with a specialist visit.

The results of all these were clear, so Osimhen returned to training with the full squad today.
