Official: Milan squad list for Verona

Davide Calabria and Alexis Saelemaekers have been included in Milan’s squad list to face Verona today.

Both players missed the Rossoneri’s Europa League clash against Lille on Thursday because of muscular problems which have now been solved.

Stefano Pioli has included them both into Milan’s squad list to face Verona this evening.

Serie A Super Sunday: predicted line-ups

Lazio-Juventus is the first match in program on Sunday in Serie A week 7. Every top Italian club play today with Atalanta hosting Inter at 2pm GMT, while Napoli travel to Bologna and  Milan host Hellas Verona at the Giuseppe Meazza at 7.45pm.

Verona President Setti has COVID

Hellas Verona President Maurizio Setti has tested positive for COVID-19 and has some symptoms, announced the club.

Verona are due to face Milan on Sunday at 19.45 GMT.

A statement released by the Serie A club confirmed Setti had tested positive for Coronavirus on Friday.

He has ‘some light symptoms’ and is already self-isolating in his home.

Meanwhile, Torino President Urbano Cairo returned home yesterday after several days in hospital with COVID-19 symptoms.

Ibrahimovic points to 'psychological' Milan issue

Italian newspapers have analysed Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s gesture during the 3-0 Europa League defeat to Lille, referring to a ‘psychological’ issue within the team.

This was the first Rossoneri defeat of the season, as they had been unbeaten since before the lockdown in March.

Ibra was substituted during the second half and made a gesture with his hands, circling around the side of his head, which in Italian refers to an issue of mentality.

Romagnoli: 'Aggressive Lille like Verona'

Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli said the defeat to LOSC Lille in the Europa league will ‘certainly be useful’ against Hellas Verona this weekend.

The Rossoneri’s unbeaten run was stopped by Lille, who picked up a 3-0 win at San Siro on Thursday thanks to a hat-trick from Yusuf Yazici.

Romagnoli insists Milan must look at the first defeat since March when they analyse Sunday’s opponents.

Juric: 'Zlatan surprised everyone'

Hellas Verona coach Ivan Juric said Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic ‘surprised everyone’ and praised Stefano Pioli’s style of play.

Verona haven’t lost in four games, including a win in the Coppa Italia on penalties against Venezia, and come from a 3-1 win against Benevento in the last round.

“If we talk about the last one, there have been positive moments and very negative moments as a performance,” Juric said at a press conference.

Verona: Gunter out with hamstring injury

Hellas Verona must cope without Koray Gunter against Milan, as the defender has suffered a hamstring injury.

After Ronaldo Vieira’s injury, the Gialloblu have further bad news ahead of the big game against the Rossoneri.

The German centre-back has played four times in Serie A this term and Verona confirmed he will be out against Milan with a ‘first-degree muscle injury to the hamstring’.

Serie A Week 7 referees

The AIA has announced the referees for Serie A Week 7, with Daniele Doveri given Atalanta-Inter and Davide Massa at the whistle when Lazio host Juventus.

Doveri will oversee his third match in Serie A 2020-21 when the Orobici host the Beneamata in Bergamo on Saturday and is not an unfamiliar face for either side.

Atalanta have won 11 of the 22 games with Doveri at the helm, as Inter have mixed results when the 42-year-old from Volterra leads them out of the tunnel (Seven wins, five draws and six defeats).

Hellas Verona: thigh injury for Ronaldo Vieira

Verona midfielder Ronaldo Vieira has picked up a thigh injury and his recovery time is unknown, the club have revealed.

The 22-year-old has appratently picked up an injury during a Verona training session.

"Hellas Verona FC announce that - after the instrumental examinations and the specialist visits to which the player has undergone in the past hours - Ronaldo Vieira reported a second-degree muscle lesion of the femoral biceps of the left thigh,” the club’s official statement reads.
