Mattia Zaccagni claimed this must be his ‘consecration campaign’ after Verona’s 3-1 win over Benevento.

The 25-year-old assisted Antonin Barak for Verona’s opener in the first half.

Inzaghi defends Caprari

Filippo Inzaghi has defended Gianluca Caprari who was sent off in Benevento’s 3-1 defeat against Verona.

The former Sampdoria striker verbally abused one of the referee’s assistants after Benevento had not been awarded a penalty kick in the second half.

“Caprari was a bit nervous,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport.

Barak: 'Difficult to deal with COVID'

Antonin Barak scored a brace to secure Verona’s 3-1 win against Benevento and has claimed he had a difficult time when he was diagnosed with COVID.

The former Udinese man caught the virus while on International duty last month.

“It was a difficult time,” he told Sky Sport after Verona’s 3-1 win over Benevento.

“I was with the national team, there was confusion.

“Staying at home for ten days is not easy, then on Wednesday we played 120 minutes [in Coppa Italia].

HT: Barak gives Verona the lead

Verona are 1-0 up against Benevento at the Stadio Bentegodi at half time but the visitors had many chances to level the game.

Antonin Barak started for the first time in a Serie A game after he had recovered from COVID last week. The former Udinese midfielder steered into the net a Mattia Zaccagni assist from the left.

Benevento fought back to score the equalizer but Marco Silvestri denied Roberto Insigne with a great one-to-one save from point-blank range.

Hellas Verona must cope without Davide Faraoni and Mert Cetin, as Gianluca Lapadula will spearhead Benevento at the Bentegodi tonight.

Juric: 'Verona won't change'

Ivan Juric has confirmed Matteo Lovato and Federico Ceccherini will start against Benevento tomorrow and has insisted he won’t change his ‘demanding’ playing style.

"We are preparing to the maximum for tomorrow’s game,” Juric said at a press conference ahead of Verona-Benevento.

“There are thousand of difficulties, but we want to make a good game and pull off a good result," he said.

“Both Lovato and Ceccherini will play. They’re not 100% fit, but they trained with us today.

Verona's Gunter free of COVID

Hellas Verona confirm defender Koray Gunter has now recovered from COVID-19 and could be available for Monday’s game with Benevento.

It kicks off on Monday at 19.45 GMT, click here for a match preview.

Gunter had tested positive on October 11 and was in isolation for three weeks.

A statement released this morning by the club states that Gunter has now tested negative for Coronavirus.
