Mancini: 'Italy always had the players'

Italy CT Roberto Mancini said the Azzurri ‘never lacked important players’ and claimed he only gave ‘them confidence and a chance to play’.

The former Fiorentina, Lazio and Inter coach has kickstarted the Italian national team and after the perfect qualifiers for Euro 2020, he has confirmed he will oversee the next two major championships.

Mancini: 'There's still time for Balotelli'

Italy CT Roberto Mancini has claimed Monza forward Mario Balotelli still has time to earn a return to the Azzurri. 'He has the best technique in Italy'.

The striker left Brescia after the relegation to Serie B and has moved to Monza in the same division, but he has struggled with injuries since his move.

Balotelli, who has experience from Inter, Manchester City, Milan, Liverpool and Nice, scored in his only appearance in the second tie.

Mancini steps down after Qatar 2022

Italy CT Roberto Mancini has announced he steps down from the position after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and suggested three names to succeed him.

The current CT has helped the Azzurri revive their position in European football and qualified for Euro 2020 with 10 out of 10 wins in the group stage.

The coach has made it known he wants a return to club football after the World Cup in 2022 and told Tiki Taka: “I will no longer be the coach of the national team after the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

“I will return to coaching a club.”

Mancini: ‘Kokorin had the quality to play for Real Madrid'

Italy CT Roberto Mancini claims Fiorentina bound Aleksandr Kokorin ‘had the quality to play for Real Madrid.’

Mancini coached the Russian striker at Zenit in the 2017-18 campaign, when Kokorin scored 19 goals in 35 games.

“I can only speak highly of him, both as a footballer and as a person,” Mancini told La Nazione.

“Kokorin is a champion, he had the quality to play for any club, including Real Madrid,” he added.

Italy CT Roberto Mancini was ‘happy’ to see Nicolò Barella scoring against Juventus and warned Andrea Pirlo ‘coaching is not like playing.’

The Azzurri coach shared his thoughts on the Scudetto race in an interview with Domenica Sportiva after Inter-Juventus.

“It was a nice game and I was happy to see Barella scoring. It’s a nice victory for Inter," Mancini said.

“Juventus can play a bad game once in a while, it happens in football,” he added.
