Roma Sporting Director Monchi has reportedly met with the agent of Mexico international and Club America winger Diego Lainez.

According to Il Tempo, the Giallorossi have been monitoring the 18-year-old Club America talent, who has already scored twice and made one assist in 10 games for the club this term.

The youngster, who is adept at playing wide on the left or right wing and also as a trequartista, has been nursing an ankle injury which has seen him miss the last four games.

Roma plan Herrera swoop

Roma are preparing a cut-price €15m January approach for FC Porto captain Hector Herrera.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, they view the 28-year-old Mexico international as an ideal replacement for Kevin Strootman.

Fans were furious when Strootman was sold to Olympique Marseille in late August, as there was no chance to bring in a new face.

Herrera has a release clause set at €40m, which has put Roma off before, but his contract is due to expire in June 2019.
