Sergio Conceicao was one of a few coaches on Milan’s shortlist to replace Stefano Pioli in the summer, but he’s now taken himself off the market.

The Rossoneri have seemingly decided to dismiss the Italian coach in the summer following their recent Europa League quarter-final exit to Daniele De Rossi’s Roma and their Derby della Madonnina defeat to Inter, which handed their rivals the Scudetto and their second star.

Conceicao was one of a handful of coaches being closely followed by Milan as they look for a new project, alongside other candidates like Julien Lopetegui, Paulo Fonseca, Mark van Bommel and Domenico Tedesco. No final decision is expected until the end of the season.

No Conceicao for Milan

As officially announced today, Conceicao has signed a new long-term contract with Porto, tying him to the Portuguese club to June 2028. The move has taken him off the table for Milan, forcing the club to focus on other options.

The Rossoneri are expected to narrow down their shortlist to a few options by the end of next week, giving them some time to prepare for the summer transfer window.
