Palombo: 'Samp-Juve battle'

Sampdoria captain Angelo Palombo assures it will be “a real battle” for Juventus to get their Scudetto point today.

Palombo denies Eto'o row

Some newspapers claim Samuel Eto’o refused to sit on the Sampdoria bench against Genoa, but Angelo Palombo denies this.

Eto’o interrupted training early on Friday due to a muscular problem and Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic waited until Saturday morning to announce his squad for the Genoa Derby.

The Cameroon international was included, but ended up in the stands for the game – which was eventually rained off and rescheduled for Tuesday at 17.30 GMT.

Palombo: 'Genoa are stronger'

Sampdoria captain Angelo Palombo says his team is stronger than Genoa 'on paper', but reality will be different in the Derby della Lanterna.

After Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic's optimistic statements ahead of the game against Genoa, the Blucerchiati captain opted for a more subdued approach to the game.

“On paper we're stronger, yes,” he said in today's press conference.

“But the players we purchased, like [Samuel] Eto'o and [Luis] Muriel, are still not in the right condition.

Palombo: Miha like Del Neri

Angelo Palombo senses that life at Sampdoria under Sinisa Mihajlovic is similar to how it was under Gigi Del Neri.
