'Lautaro to Barca practically done'

The President of Lautaro Martinez’s first club has expressed his belief that a deal to take the Inter striker to Barcelona is ‘practically done’.

Carlos Pablo is the patron of Liniers de Bahia Blanca, where Martinez began his career, and he followed in the line of Racing Club owner Victor Blanco, who said a move was ‘close’.

“It may be crazy, but the money we’ll receive makes us tremble, not despair,” Pablo told Radio del Plata.

Racing: 'Lautaro close to Barcelona'

Racing Club President Victor Blanco maintains Lautaro Martinez ‘is close to a move to Barcelona,’ good news considering he asked Inter for a cut of the profits.

There is a release clause worth €111m in his contract, but the clubs are negotiating a transfer involving cash plus players in exchange.

Lautaro advised to join Barca

One of Lautaro Martinez’s former mentors has advised the striker to leave Inter and join Barcelona. “Go and play with the best footballer in the world.”

Adrian Ruben Fernandez is the President of youth football at Racing Club and was an instrumental figure in unearthing Martinez’s potential, prior to his €22.7m move to Inter in the summer of 2018.

“He was a very smart, focused and humble boy,” he told Sport.

Report: Zaracho yes to Milan

Milan have allegedly received the green light by Matias Zaracho and are currently negotiating the price tag for the starlet with his current employer Racing Club.

The attacking midfielder, who can also play on the wing, has been looking for an opportunity in Europe and Calciomercato.com reports that he has given his word to the Rossoneri.

The 21-year-old has played 16 games and contributed four goals so far in 2019-20, whilst being capped eight times in total by the Argentina Under-23 side.

Milan look at Racing starlet

Milan are reportedly keen on signing Racing Club starlet Matias Zaracho, who has a €25m release clause.

According to Calciomercato.com, Zaracho’s peformances for Racing have caught the eye of Milan sporting director Ricky Massara.

However, while the 21-year-old has a €25m release clause, Tuttosport warns the Rossoneri will not go beyond €18m.

The diminutive attacking midfielder has scored five goals and provided five assists in 63 appearances for his club.

Agent: ‘Martinez at Inter complicated’

The agent of Inter striker Lautaro Martinez admits “having a player like him and giving him little space on the pitch is complicated”.

The Argentine joined the Nerazzurri from Racing Club in the summer, but he has only made four Serie A starts so far.

“He is a lad who has an incredible personality, he does everything he’s asked to do,” Alberto Yaque said on Radio Sur.

Lautaro Martinez insists ‘I’m at Inter because I want to be there’ as it is reported Racing Club failed in a bid to bring the striker back on loan.

Gazzetta dello Sport claims Racing were hoping to capitalise on Martinez’s lack of impact at Inter but saw their advances rebuffed by the Nerazzurri.

Furthermore, the Argentina starlet is determined to make the most of his €21m transfer.

“Playing for Inter is very important and a big responsibility for me,” he told Sky Sport.

Confirmed: Inter's deal for Lautaro

Racing Club have confirmed that Inter paid an initial €14m for Lautaro Martinez, with €7m to follow in bonuses.

The structure of the deal was revealed during Racing’s shareholders’ meeting on Friday, with club treasurer Pablo Mena going on to explain how Inter would cover the remaining €7m.

“The bonuses are: goals scored, games played and final positioning in the Champions League,” he said.

Milito: ‘Tried to keep Martinez’

Racing Club sporting director Diego Milito confirms they tried to keep Lautaro Martinez until January but Inter “wanted to have the player right away”.

The Argentinian international had agreed to join the Nerazzurri well before the transfer window opened, but there was debate about the timing of his arrival.

The youngster wanted to complete the Copa Libertadores with Racing, but the Beneamata insisted on having him for the whole season.

Lautaro hails Icardi rapport

Lautaro Martinez is enjoying his rapport with Inter teammate Mauro Icardi and confirms he turned down Atletico Madrid.

The Argentine talent turns 21 later this month and scored an acrobatic volley in last night’s 1-0 International Champions Cup win at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

“I am very happy, as we’ve gone through some tough friendlies and are preparing well against teams we could face in the Champions League,” the striker told RMC Sport.
