Alessandro Del Piero celebrates his 45th birthday today, so Football Italia decided to rank his five greatest lesser-known goals for the Bianconeri, not an easy task considering he scored 290 for Juventus over a 19-year period.

5. Napoli, Stadio San Paolo, Serie A, 1994-95

On this day: Del Piero's bad knee

On this day 21 years ago, Alessandro Del Piero suffered the injury that would ultimately change the course of his career.

Juventus were playing Francesco Guidolin’s Udinese at the Stadio Friuli in Week 8 of the 1998-99 Serie A season when Del Piero, late in the game, latched on to a through ball in the Zebrette penalty area and attempted a volley.

Defender Marco Zanchi (whom fate would have sign for Juve in 2000) ran across Del Piero, who overextended himself, trying to make a connection with the ball, and landed awkwardly on his left knee.

Klopp: Coutinho like Del Piero

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp claims he has not seen a player like Philippe Coutinho since Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero.

Coutinho began his European career at Inter but made his name with Klopp’s Liverpool, prior to joining Barcelona for big money in January 2018.

The Brazil attacker has since moved on to Bayern Munich, who have brought him in on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

“He’s a very dominant player who can help shape a team,” the Coach told Kicker.

VIDEO: Del Piero fancy footwork

Alessandro Del Piero proved he’s still got that fancy footwork after a guest appearance on the Italian version of Dancing With The Stars.

The Juventus and Italy hero has hung up his boots, but put on some dancing shoes and showed off his quickstep routine.

He’s not the only former football player involved in the show, as his ex-Juventus teammate Daniel Osvaldo is a competitor.

'Quagliarella like Del Piero & Totti'

Sampdoria boss Marco Giampaolo has showered praise on the evergreen Fabio Quagliarella. “He’s one of the greats like Del Piero and Totti.”

Samp can catapult themselves back into the European mix with another win this weekend, but standing in their way on Saturday are a Milan side competing for a Champions League spot.

“Milan are a good team,” Giampaolo said at a Press conference.

“They’re a team competing for a place in the Champions League. We had an experience against them two-and-a-half months ago.

Del Piero: 'Juventus will win Champions'

Alessandro Del Piero believes Juventus “will win the Champions League sooner or later with Cristiano Ronaldo. I was surprised to see him sign, but not that surprised.”

The Bianconeri will face Ajax in the quarter-finals after overturning a 2-0 deficit to beat Atletico Madrid 3-2 on aggregate with a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick.

“It was a huge achievement with Atletico, but those who already know this club were not surprised,” Del Piero told Marca.

Giorgio Chiellini says matches between Juventus and Torino “are not like the others”, and explains what he learned from previous captains.

The two sides meet in the Derby della Mole on Saturday night, and the centre-back sat down with DAZN to preview the match.

“Torino have improved a lot,” Chiellini warned.

“They’re physical and they’re good on the counter-attack. With [Walter] Mazzarri they’ve made an important upgrade, they can aim for Europe and they can certainly cause us problems.
