Marrone ‘tried to steal Pirlo’s secrets’

Verona midfielder Luca Marrone says he ‘tried to steal Del Piero and Pirlo’s free kick secrets’ while at Juventus. 

The 25-year-old signed for Hellas in January and made an instant impression by assisting all three of his side’s goals against Inter from dead ball situations.

He revealed today that he attempted to hone his craft while with the Bianconeri by observing some of the world’s best in action.

“I learned so much at Juve,” he said to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Del Piero for Mallorca role?

Former Juventus star Alessandro Del Piero is reportedly on the verge of joining Real Mallorca in a directorial role.

Sky Sport believes that a close friendship between Del Piero and former NBA star Steve Nash, who owns the club, could lead to a new role for the former Italy international.

The report says that the former Juve number 10 would take on the position of director general at the Spanish club.

Del Piero: 'Coaching? Maybe'

Juventus icon Alessandro Del Piero says he has 'no plans yet' to become a Coach as he evaluates this Serie A season.

The former Bianconeri captain has been touted for a return to Serie A in a different role, and in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport he admitted he was open to the possibility.

“Before going abroad I'd have said that coaching didn't interest me,” he confessed. “Then I came in touch with other dimensions of the world in which I always lived.

‘Honour to wear number 10’

Paul Pogba describes the “honour” of wearing the “very important” Juventus number 10 shirt.

The midfielder took over the number in the summer from Carlos Tevez, with the shirt previously having been worn by Alessandro Del Piero, Roberto Baggio and Michel Platini.

“When I put the Juve shirt on it’s always an honour, because I know that at Juventus the number 10 is very important,” Pogba told JTV.

Agent: ‘Insigne needs protection’

Lorenzo Insigne’s agent says the Napoli man must be “protected” from tough tackles on his knee.

The Italian international missed most of last season with a cruciate ligament injury, and has taken  number of blows to the same knee in recent weeks, including Sunday’s match with Chievo.

“I hope these repeated hits to the knee are just a coincidence,” Antonio Ottaiano told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

Del Piero: 'Ready to be a Coach'

Alessandro Del Piero feels “ready to become a Coach. I learned from Marcello Lippi, Fabio Capello and Carlo Ancelotti.”

The former Juventus legend hung up his boots after experiences in Australia and India, then spent time this summer as a pundit on Sky Sport Italia.

“I will admit, I do now feel ready to become a Coach,” he told the Corriere dello Sport newspaper.

“It’s an intriguing option that I am now evaluating. If you’d asked me three years ago, I would’ve said no, but things are different now.
