Marchisio: 'Juve my priority'

Claudio Marchisio hasn’t yet decided on his future after retirement, but explains why he never moved to the Premier League. “My priority was Juventus.”

The midfielder retired at the age of 33 after numerous knee injuries during his final years at Juve and Zenit St Petersburg.

“I haven't ruled out anything, but for the moment I have not decided what I will do,” Marchisio told the Daily Mail when asked if he’d like to be a Coach.

Champions League Finals 2021-23

The 2021 Champions League Final will be at Zenit’s Saint-Petersburg Stadium, the 2022 Final in Munich and 2023 at Wembley in London.

UEFA announced the assignment of the biggest matches in the club calendar during today’s Press conference.

The culmination of the 2020-21 campaign will be in Russia at Zenit’s Saint Petersburg Stadium.

In the 2021-22 season, the Champions League is to be decided at the Football Arena in Munich, more commonly known as Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena.

Rigoni set for Sampdoria medical

Zenit St Petersburg winger Emiliano Rigoni is expected in Italy tomorrow to complete his €10m Sampdoria transfer.

According to Sky Sport Italia, it will be a loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season for a total of €10m.

The 26-year-old Argentine will have his medical on Monday and sign the paperwork before the transfer deadline that evening.

Rigoni already spent six disappointing months in Serie A with Atalanta from August 2018, but cut the season-long loan short.

Rigoni and Simeone for Samp

Sampdoria are reportedly close to both Zenit’s Emiliano Rigoni and Fiorentina striker Giovanni Simeone, on loan with option to buy.

According to Sportitalia and Tuttomercatoweb, negotiations are down to the details for Rigoni following today’s meeting with the Russian club.

It would be a loan with option to buy, that becomes an obligation once he has played a certain number of games.

This is a return to Serie A after Rigoni’s disappointing six months with Atalanta last year.

Fiorentina join Mammana chase

After he turned down a move to Sassuolo, now Fiorentina have asked for Zenit St Petersburg defender Emanuel Mammana.

The Argentina international rejected a transfer to the Mapei Stadium after taking a couple of days to consider the proposal, claim La Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, it’s now suggested by Tuttomercatoweb that he could reconsider if Fiorentina was the destination.

Mammana turns down Sassuolo

Sassuolo have reportedly failed in their bid to coax Argentine’s Emmanuel Mannana to leave Zenit for €1m loan with €10m option to buy.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport writer Nicolò Schira, the two clubs had reached a basic deal for the 23-year-old centre-back.

It would’ve been a €1m loan with option to buy at the end of the season for a further €10m.

However, Argentina international Mammana took a couple of days to consider and decided to reject the transfer.

Marchisio in Brescia talks

There are multiple reports and social media hints that Juventus icon Claudio Marchisio is returning to Serie A for Brescia.

The Bianconeri fan favourite spent practically his entire career in hometown Turin was released in September 2018 and moved to Zenit St Petersburg.

He made only 15 competitive appearances for the Russian club, scoring two goals, and is now a free agent.

Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more all report Brescia have offered Marchisio a two-year contract worth €1m per year plus numerous bonuses.

Zenit troll Roma in Malcom video

Zenit St Petersburg trolled Roma during their presentation of new purchase Malcom, including their 24 hours in his career highlights.

The Brazilian completed his transfer to Zenit today for €45m, signing a six-year contract.

He was announced with the traditional video clip of career highlights, which bizarrely included a ‘spell’ at Roma.

Sampdoria close on Rigoni

Sampdoria are on the verge of securing Zenit St Petersburg winger Emiliano Rigoni on loan with obligation to buy for €12m.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, ANSA and other sources, Zenit have given the all-clear to the move once they have found a suitable replacement.

It’ll be €1m for the one-season loan, with obligation to purchase for another €11m once Rigoni has made 10 appearances for the Blucerchiati.

Official: Parma sign Zenit's Hernani

Parma have officially signed Brazilian midfielder Hernani from Zenit St Petersburg, on loan with obligation to buy for a reported €6m.

A statement released by the Ducali confirmed the details of the transfer, which is on loan with mandatory purchase at the end of the season.

The player, full name Hernani Azvedo Junior, has signed a contract to June 2023.

Hernani is 25 years old and joined Zenit from Atletico Paranaense for €8m in January 2017.
