Serie B: Brescia appoint Dionigi

Brescia have officially appointed Davide Dionigi as their new head coach, to replace sacked Diego Lopez.

Dionigi becomes the Rondinelle’s third coach this season and takes over the side at 12th place in Serie B.

Patron Massimo Cellino announced the appointment through a statement on the club’s website.

“Brescia Calcio announce that the technical leadership of the first team has been entrusted to Davide Dionigi,” the club wrote.

Official: Brescia sack Lopez

Brescia have decided to sack coach Diego Lopez and Daniele Gastaldello takes over on temporarily at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti.

Patron Massimo Cellino brought Lopez back to the Rondinelle in October, as he sacked Luigi Delneri, but the Uruguayan has not been able to turn things around.

Brescia, who were relegated for Serie A with Lopez at the helm last season, are 14th in Serie B after nine games and a run of three consecutive defeats cost him the job.

Serie B: Brescia revived on Lopez return

Brescia got their first win of the season by thumping Lecce 3-0 on the return of coach Diego Lopez, but Monza-Vicenza is postponed due to a COVID outbreak.

Official: Brescia sack Delneri, recall Lopez

Brescia President Massimo Cellino has sacked Gigi Delneri and brought back Diego Lopez, who had been the coach from February to August 2020.

The decision was made by volcanic patron Cellino just two games into the new Serie B season.

The Rondinelle picked up one point from those two rounds and Delneri was fired after a 3-0 defeat to league leaders Cittadella.

Lopez had been at Brescia from February 5 to the end of the season, parting company on August 20.

His 16 games resulted in two wins, four draws and 10 defeats.

Diego Lopez back at Brescia?

Brescia patron Massimo Cellino has reportedly decided to sack Luigi Delneri and wants to bring back Diego Lopez as head coach.

Tuttomercatoweb explains the President was not happy with the management of the team in the 3-0 defeat to Cittadella last weekend.

The outlet reveals Diego Lopez can return without any problems due to his contractual ties with the Rondinelle, who sit bottom in Serie B after two games.

TMW claims Lopez had never terminated his deal with Brescia and will meet with the management to discuss the future strategies in Lombardy.

Official: Lopez leaves Brescia

Brescia have officially announced the termination of Diego Lopez’ contract and will reportedly appoint Luigi Delneri as their new head coach.

The Rondinelle have released a statement confirming that President Massimo Cellino has waited to formalise a deal with the new coach until he had resolved the situation with Lopez, who was appointed in February.
