Juve: James to replace Dybala?

AS is reporting Juventus could hijack Napoli negotiations and replace Paulo Dybala with Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez.

Dybala’s Juve career looks like ending this month, with Paris Saint-Germain and Inter in for the forward if Tottenham Hotspur fail to secure a deal on Thursday.

With that in mind, AS claims Juve have suddenly shown an interest in James, whose proposed move to Napoli continues to stall.

The newspaper explains Cristiano Ronaldo has already approved of the Colombian’s arrival from their time together at Madrid.

Ancelotti: Too much James talk!

Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti has called for calm after complaining ‘there’s too much James Rodriguez talk and I don’t know anything about Hirving Lozano.’

Napoli lost 2-1 to Barcelona last night – their first defeat in preseason – but Ancelotti was encouraged by how his side matched the Spanish champions for large parts.

Madrid drop James & Mariano

Real Madrid have dropped Serie A targets James Rodriguez and Mariano Diaz for their friendly with Red Bull Salzburg later.

Marca reports Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane ‘isn’t counting’ on the pair, despite their inclusion in preseason training.

James’ omission will inevitably revive links with Napoli, who reportedly have a verbal agreement with Los Blancos over a loan deal for the Colombian after August 15.

ADL: 'Napoli evaluating many names'

Aurelio De Laurentiis assures Napoli are “evaluating many names other than James Rodriguez, Hirving Lozano and Mauro Icardi,” but has no Nicolas Pepe regrets.

“We are evaluating many names other than James Rodriguez, Lozano and Icardi,” the President told Sky Sport Italia.

“So much so that I made a large offer for Pepe, but we were unable to get him. Arsenal have five times the revenue of Napoli, so they will have simply offered him more money. Never mind, we’ll find another Pepe.

Napoli get James Rodriguez deadline

Real Madrid have reportedly agreed to send James Rodriguez to Napoli on loan with option to buy if they can’t complete a €42m sale by August 15.

The news comes from La Repubblica and the Corriere dello Sport newspapers, after Fenerbahce saw their approach shot down immediately by the player.

Atletico Madrid are also beginning to realise James has his heart set on Napoli and are pulling back on their offer, particularly as Real Madrid do not want to reinforce a direct Liga rival.

Release clause for Lozano?

Napoli target Hirving Lozano has a €42m release clause in his PSV Eindhoven contract, claim reports, as talks with Mino Raiola continue.

The Mexico international had been one of the first names on Carlo Ancelotti’s list this summer, but is coming back around after problems with other options such as Nicolas Pepe and James Rodriguez.

PSV Eindhoven were knocked out of the Champions League preliminary round last night by FC Basel, which makes it much more likely they’ll sell Lozano.

Zidane: 'Don't know if James stays'

Zinedine Zidane admits he doesn’t know “if James Rodriguez is going to be at Real Madrid next season” amid Napoli and Atletico Madrid interest.

While the Merengues are trying to make it look as if the Colombia international could remain following Marco Asensio’s injury, the Coach continued to show little regard for the player who spent the last two seasons on loan at Bayern Munich.

“I don't know if James is going to be in Madrid next season,” Zidane told reporters after an Audi Cup defeat to Tottenham.

Real Madrid leave out James

Napoli are still in the running for James Rodriguez after he was left out of Real Madrid’s squad photographs.

The injury to Marco Asensio led to suggestions James would remain at the Bernabeu this season, following a two-year loan deal at Bayern Munich.

He just returned from an extended vacation due to Copa America duty with Colombia and was therefore left out of the Audi Cup squad for this week.

Agent: 'Hope for best James solution'

Agent Jorge Mendes said he hopes “we find the best solution for the club and player,” as Napoli target James Rodriguez remains at Real Madrid.

The Colombia international is back training with Zinedine Zidane’s team after Copa America duty and his two-season loan at Bayern Munich.

He is a known target for Napoli and Atletico Madrid, but Real Madrid have been unable to agree terms.

“I am not the one who decides these things. You’d have to ask (Real Madrid President) Florentino Perez,” Jorge Mendes told Radio Marca.
