ADL plans summer overhaul

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is planning a major overhaul of the squad next summer, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The club has been in the eye of the storm recently, as the players defied orders to return to a President-sanctioned training retreat at Castelvolturno following the 1-1 draw with RB Salzburg.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti reportedly backed the players, but he and his staff returned to the 'ritiro'. This led to De Laurentiis fining all the players.

‘Inter-Napoli should have been suspended’

UEFA and FIFPro are “very concerned” that the Inter-Napoli match wasn’t halted after racist abuse aimed at Kalidou Koulibaly.

FIFA signs new FIFPro agreement

FIFA has reached an agreement with the international players’ union, FIFPro, who have dropped a lawsuit against world football’s governing body.

The union took legal action to outlaw the transfer system, making it easier for players to move between clubs on the basis that their members didn’t have the freedom of movement afforded to other professions.

New regulations will not do away with the transfer system, but it will make it easier for players to break contracts, particularly when they haven’t been paid.

Muntari: 'Treated like a criminal'

Pescara midfielder Sulley Muntari felt “angry and isolated. I was being treated like a criminal. How could I be punished when I was the victim of racism?”

The Ghana international received a yellow card for protesting at racist abuse from the stands during a 1-0 defeat to Cagliari, then walked off the pitch and received another booking.

He was given a one-match ban, which was revoked on appeal last night.

“I feel that someone has finally listened and heard me,” Muntari told the FIFPro website.

FIFPro: 'Rescind Muntari card'

FIFPro demand that Sulley Muntari’s yellow card is rescinded after he was racially abused, but the Italian authorities opted to penalise the player rather than Cagliari.

The incident occurred during Sunday’s 1-0 home win for the Sardinians over Muntari’s Pescara.

The Ghana midfielder heard racist chants from a small group in the crowd and, when he urged the referee to do something, he was booked.
