Juve to seal Scudetto tonight?

Juventus will be crowned Scudetto winners for the ninth successive season if they beat Udinese later.

That was confirmed by Inter’s 0-0 draw with Fiorentina last night and Juve possessing a superior head-to-head with Atalanta in Serie A.

Although Atalanta could still theoretically close the gap after a Juve win tonight, the Old Lady’s nine-point lead would be emboldened by a victory and draw in their two league meetings with the Dea earlier this season.

Probable line-ups: Udinese-Juve

Juventus are without Leonardo Bonucci but have Federico Bernardeschi back against Udinese, with a win securing them their ninth straight Scudetto.

The match kicks off at 18:30 UK time – click here for a preview.

Bonucci is suspended for the trip to Udine so Daniele Rugani should get the nod over Merih Demiral as Matthijs de Ligt’s partner in central defender.

Sarri: 'Almost winning is meaningless'

Maurizio Sarri reiterates that ‘almost’ securing the ninth consecutive Serie A title for Juventus is ‘meaningless’ and tries to focus on the trip to Udinese.

It kicks off on Thursday at 18.30 UK time (17.30 GMT), click here for a match preview.

The Bianconeri are almost there for the Scudetto, as if Inter don’t beat Fiorentina tonight, they can mathematically clinch the title with a win in Udine.

Bonucci out against Udinese

The Disciplinary Commission handed Leonardo Bonucci a one-match suspension after the Juventus defender picked up his 10th yellow card against Lazio.

A short announcement from the Giudice Sportivo after the last fixture in Serie A Week 34 has confirmed that Bonucci will not be available against Udinese on Thursday.

The Bianconeri was booked after giving away a penalty in the 82nd minute, helping Ciro Immobile reach 30 goals in Serie A this term with the spot kick.

Serie A Week 35 referees

AIA has announced the referees for Serie A Week 35, with Piero Giacomelli given Inter-Fiorentina and Antonio Giua the match official when Napoli travel to Parma.

Giacomelli will be at the whistle when the Nerazzurri host Fiorentina at San Siro on Wednesday, the second time for Inter this term.

Antonio Conte’s men beat SPAL 4-0 last time Giacomelli oversaw the Beneamata, whilst Fiorentina lost both their previous games 2-1 with the 42-year-old in charge – against Genoa and Torino respectively.

Possible Scudetto party in Udine

Juventus could mathematically celebrate the 2019-20 Serie A title on Thursday, but only if Inter don’t beat Fiorentina first.

Their 2-1 victory over Lazio last night put the Bianconeri eight points clear of Inter at the top of the table.

Because they have a superior head-to-head record with Inter, it means that if these teams were to finish level, Juve would still come out on top.

Goal difference is only used in Italy if the head-to-head record, and goal difference within those two games, are both equal.

Agent: 'Musso ready for top club'

Udinese goalkeeper Juan Musso ‘costs too much for Benfica’ and is ‘ready for a really big club,’ says the Argentina international’s agent.

The 26-year-old was signed from Racing Club Avellaneda for €4m in the summer of 2018 and his performances are one of the main reasons Udinese have broken away from the relegation zone.

“There are many rumours about him in Italy, with talk of Inter, Napoli and even Milan,” agent Vicente Montes told Radio Marte.
