Udinese 'ashamed' of 7-1 loss

Udinese technical director Pierpaolo Marino said the team and club “ought to be ashamed” of an historic 7-1 defeat to Atalanta.

The Friulani had taken the lead in Bergamo through Stefano Okaka, but after Nicolas Opoku’s second bookable offence 31 minutes in, it was all downhill.

“This is a defeat we ought to be ashamed off. Never in my career have I lost by a 7-1 result. These are moments where we really do hit rock bottom,” Marino told Udinese TV.

Traore first 2002 on target

Atalanta youth team winger Amad Traore has made history as the first player born in the year 2002 to score a Serie A goal.

The youngster only turned 17 in July and made his top flight debut as a substitute during today’s 7-1 victory over 10-man Udinese.

He completed the rout just six minutes after coming off the bench at the Gewiss Stadium.

Originally from the Ivory Coast, he is the younger brother of Sassuolo midfielder Hamed Junior Traore.

Gasperini: 'Scudetto? No!'

Gian Piero Gasperini is relishing the new Atalanta records after destroying Udinese 7-1, but laughs off Scudetto talk. “We always believe in our approach.”

The Orobici wrote several pages in the history books today, equalling their all-time biggest Serie A victory after the 7-1 against Triestina in June 1952.

'De Paul will end up at Milan'

As it is reported Milan plan to step up their pursuit of Rodrigo de Paul, Luciano Moggi expects the Udinese forward to become Rossonero.

Milan were briefly linked with De Paul over the summer but were in constant contact with his agent Agustin Jimenez, who also represents Angel Correa.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Diavolo are not giving up on the Argentina international, although any move may have to wait until next year.

Serie A Week 9 referees

The referees for Serie A Week 9 have been announced, with Daniele Orsato given Roma-Milan.

Orsato is among the more experienced referees in Italy and has already officiated Juventus-Napoli this season.

Roma have won 10 of their 29 games with him at the helm, whereas he has overseen nine Milan victories in 27 matches.

The VAR at the Olimpico will be Massimiliano Irrati.

Elsewhere, Marco Guida will oversee Lazio’s trip to Fiorentina and Daniele Chiffi is entrusted with Inter-Parma.
